Department Overview

Gas Operations Portfolio Management and Planning (GPM&P) executes and resources over $2 Billion worth of Project and Program work. The organization is composed of three teams: Work & Resources Planning, Distribution Portfolio Management, and Transmission Portfolio Management. Partnering with upstream engineering stakeholders and downstream construction stakeholders, our team is responsible for safely delivering the projects on time and on budget.

 

Position Summary

This position will be dedicated to the development, implementation, execution, and oversight of safety related programs for the Gas Program Management & Planning organization. This position will report directly to the Director of the Gas Transmission Project Management team.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

Disclosure:

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. 

 

The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Pay Range: 

 

  • Minimum:   $122,000
  • Maximum:  $194,000.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Applies depth and breadth of knowledge to provide a consistent delivery of workforce safety programs with full alignment to Enterprise Safety and Health expectations.
  • Applies expert knowledge of Program Management to wide-ranging issues and assignments. Works independently with guidance on only the most complex issues. May lead project teams.
  • Manages programs that are cross departmental, complex and have a significant impact on the line of business. Leads development of plans to achieve program goals.
  • Provides standardized regular reports, along with custom, ad-hoc reports for review at the program level. May supports divisions with reporting for operational metrics to provide intelligence on performance trends. Develops and delivers presentations to leaders regarding the program progress toward goals.
  • Leads partner organizations to develop and implement improved processes, best practices, controls, and procedures to improve efficiency, compliance and customer satisfaction and reduce costs.
  • May work with other project or program managers or peers in other departments or regions to reschedule work, re-allocate funds and explore other means to achieve financial and productivity goals.
  • Represents the program as a subject matter expert and stakeholder on process improvement teams.
  • May develop new policies and all relevant processes, infrastructure, documentation and tools to support a new program.
  • Develops communication and training plans. Ensures target audience is fully educated in the purpose of the program and the proper processes and requirements to follow. Ensures compliance with the program.
  • Leads peers and partner organizations to develop and implement new and/ or improved processes, procedures, policies, controls, and best practices to improve safety, customer satisfaction, efficiencies, regulatory compliance and reduce costs.
  • Manage safety end to end for the GPM&P (communication plans, TIPs, safety summit)
  • Develop and implement ongoing annual Human Performance refresher training for the Gas Program Management & Planning organization.
  • GPM&P process improvement lead for Process Safety.
  • Manage the development and delivery of Third Thursday content.
  • Clearance process oversight lead for the Gas Transmission and Distribution project management teams.   
  • May lead work teams or groups.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years’ total related experience
  • SAP experience
  • Project or program management
  • Experience managing capital or expense budgets

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification
  • Experience in Gas utility maintenance and construction and/or project management
  • In depth knowledge of gas utility processes, regulatory requirements, critical success factors, goals, and initiatives.
  • Expertise in communication and interpersonal/collaboration influence
  • Analytical and creative problem solving, strategic decision-making ability.
  • Broad knowledge of project management, process improvement, best practices, concepts, methods, and techniques.
  • High level organizational skills.
  • Advanced presentation skills to effectively convey complex issues to internal and external parties of various levels.
