Position Summary

Establishes database management systems for on- Prem and for AWS environments, operation standards and guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as physical database design, capacity planning, backup and recovery and disaster recovery plans and security implementation plan. Manages all production and non-production on databases on AWS environment. Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines. Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies. Work in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company 


Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS applications at the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics 
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for AWS solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance 
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures 
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required 
  • Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity 
  • Liaison to vendor partners and other stakeholders.
  • Looks for strategic opportunities for technology advancement and cross functional relationships
  • May act as a team lead and/or coach to developing employees
  • Provides broad cross-functional and technological expertise in databases as well as business
  • Regularly called on to apply creativity or new approaches to technical assignments that may be unique.
  • Responsible for larger initiatives such as transitioning to new technologies and large programs.
  • Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics 
  • Knowledge of Customer Data management systems and Customer care and billing. 




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 5 years in cloud and database technologies
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum
  • Experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms
  • AWS, Cloud Platform, and/or Database Certification
