Department Overview

The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

 

Position Summary

The Senior Quality Operations Specialist is responsible to collaborate and work with departments within Electric Operations to ensure Corrective Action Program execution and compliance. Provides analyses and reporting of trends. Assist in detailed Corrective Action Program investigations and analyses using established formal cause evaluation methods and tools. Collaborates with departments subject matter experts within Electric Operations or across lines of business to develop effective corrective action plans for identified issues. Provides analyses and reporting of adverse trends. Develops quality management systems and plans for process improvement to assure quality assurance and quality control measures are implemented. Evaluates effectiveness of, and recommends improvements in business process, practice and procedures.

 

This job requires travel approximately 60% of the time, through the PG&E service territory, with occasional overnight travel.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Corrective Action Program (CAP):

  • Collaborates and works with specific functional Electric departments to help coach employees on the use of the CAP program, helps appropriately assign issues, coaches issue owners on quality closure and timeliness of issue resolution.
  • Assigns CAP issues to the right organization
  • Verifies corrective actions are implemented and validates effectiveness to prevent recurrence.
  • Problem solve to address issues in an effective and timely manner
  • May assist in conducting CAP investigations and analyses of primarily moderate complexity
  • Works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine cognitive and adverse trends within their respective line of business

 

Process Improvement

  • Conducts business process analysis and identify process improvement
  • Review trend data, perform trend analysis, and make recommendations to improve system performance
  • May participate in business process reengineering
  • May provide quality recommendations by evaluating and reviewing processes in a line of business or in departments
  • Promotes performance continuous improvement

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with business process reengineering
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and corrective action programs
  • Ability to influence all levels including senior management
  • Ability to interview personnel of all levels during incident investigations
  • Knowledge of work methods and procedures in order to accurately identify risks and areas for improvement
  • Ability to work independently and be effective in team settings
