Department Overview

In Customer Care we are focused on delivering the desired customer experience for each of our customers. Everything we do starts with the customer and our information about the customer. That information is collected and managed by our Customer Experience Strategy group. Each of our organizations, though completely dependent upon each other, are the experts in their area and will further drive PG&Es alignment around the customer.

 

The New Revenue Development (NRD) organization is an entrepreneurial and customer-focused team in Customer Care whose purpose is to advance innovative uses of PG&E assets, resources, expertise and relationships. Through the products that NRD develops and manages, NRD has the opportunity to drive customer satisfaction, lower rates for PG&E’s customers, and generate positive net revenue for PG&E shareholders.

 

Position Summary

The Wireless Field Manager’s job function will be to work within a project team to review third party equipment designs on PG&E assets and properties for safety and compliance with all applicable standards and guidelines.  This position is responsible for the non-tariff product and revenue generation, including the processes and customer relationships. This includes insights into both the customer and internal stakeholder needs and managing deliverables, namely wireless project milestones.   Ensuring no third-party impact to safe and reliable electric service while maintaining compliance with the California Public Utility Commission's General Orders 95 and 128, all PG&E safety regulations, and other regulatory requirements or Company standards is an expectation of the role.  

 

The work territory will be in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. Position is field-based and will require travel 70% of the time.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business units and external agencies.
  • Lead moderate to complex projects with a medium to high corporate or functional priority by managing critical project milestones or property issues in accordance with contractual language as described by the applicable MLA.
  • Present findings and makes recommendations to leadership or others within organization on issues impacting wireless operations.
  • Participate in or leads cross-functional committees and teams on efforts to update or improve process standards, work procedures, and guidelines.
  • Lead cost control measures and ensures project expenses are managed in compliance with PG& E standards, processes/procedures.
  • Implement PG&E’s Contractor Safety Program and other company-wide safety programs/procedures that impact wireless field operations.
  • Act as the primary point-of-contact for oversight and delivery of moderate to high risk project initiatives including project lead initiation and feasibility, assembling multi-disciplinary project teams, defining scope, and controlling project risks and variables.
  • Apply in-depth analysis or judgment in order to minimize risk and reach design and scoping solutions or results.
  • Lead the development and delivery of training material either on an ad-hoc basis or with the PG&E academy.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain by first day of employment
  • 6 years of utility related experience in electric transmission, wireless, construction management, IT, project/program management, and/or electric or gas field experience

 

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or psychology
  • Real Estate License
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Ability to solve simple and complex problems involving basic mathematics and statistical methods
  • Advanced knowledge and application of project management principles, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
  • Ability to apply advanced project management theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
  • Skilled at making decisions based on relevant expertise as needed to perform at the job level
  • Competency in developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of internal and external audiences
