Department Overview

UC4 / Automic Development and Product Management team is responsible for PG&E enterprise workflow automation development, coordination, maintenance, and product oversight. The organization interfaces with numerous other PG&E business teams.

 

Position Summary

Manage UC4 / Automic product oversight and develop UC4 / Automic solutions according to client requirements. Apply enterprise standards and procedures to all development effort. Innovate new standardized development solutions for continuous improvement. Provide product management and administration. Train and teach clients on UC4 development procedures and best practices as needed. Assist clients in all aspects of navigating the process to develop and maintain UC4 / Automic workflow

automation solutions. Visit San Ramon when needed to meet with clients in person for partnership and collaboration.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S. degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, engineering, or other relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of experience in programming/systems analysis and design, project management, and/or IT strategy planning or other related area

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong background in object-oriented development and strong adherence to procedures
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across teams
  • Strong Linux, Unix, Windows capability

  • Procedurally oriented and able to adhere to standards.
  • Disciplined approach to requirements understanding and problem solving and resolution.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to create operational and usage documentation: develop, publish, and enforce procedures.
  • Desire to teach and train clients in processes and best practices for UC4 development.
  • Ability to create long term solutions that fit with stated corporate goals and strategies.
  • Basic understanding and proficiency with server type operating system commands and file systems such as Windows, SAP, and Unix.
  • Understating of Object Oriented systems and their implementations.
  • Programming ability with interpreted or script type languages such as Perl, REXX, Windows/Unix shell, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.
  • Understanding of reusable coding techniques.
  • Basic SQL understanding and coding.
  • Experience with AE/UC4 or other multi-platform automation tools.
  • Proficiency with Windows tools such as the MS Office suite.
  • Understanding of Change Control/Management, i.e.: versioning, source control, promotion, recovery, concurrent development, approval, etc.
