The Customer Energy Solutions (CES) organization provides integrated energy solutions designed to help customers save energy and money. CES delivers targeted energy management and rates products that address the specific needs of customers of varied sizes (large commercial and industrial enterprises, to residential customers) in diverse market segments across all energy technologies.

Within CES, the Clean Energy Transportation (CET) group is focused on accelerating the adoption of clean vehicles in California. We serve PG&E’s customers by deploying electric vehicle charging stations under several infrastructure programs. Since 2017, we have served 120+ customers with 2,300+ EV charging stations, provided EV rebates to 130,000 customers, and enrolled 61,000 customers in our EV rates.

Position Summary

CET’s Program Management Office (PMO) provides operational and financial tracking and oversight of CET’s programs, ensuring that these programs serve PG&E’s customers safely, reliably, and affordably while enabling the achievement of ambitious clean energy transportation adoption goals.

Within the PMO, the CET Business Analyst (Senior) provides management and oversight on PG&E’s clean transportation programs through data analytics. This role will advance CET’s analysis, management, and reporting for PG&E’s clean transportation programs, and will build recommendations and drive PG&E business insights in the growing clean transportation space. The CET PMO is seeking a driven and inquisitive Business Analyst to undertake specific project work that may include:

  • Gathering, analyzing, and displaying data on electric vehicles charging station utilization by customers, to drive strategic insights and build industry knowledge
  • Data pipeline discovery and data management, relying on basic familiarity with programming languages e.g. SQL, Python
  • Setting up and managing data integrity-related processes for EV charging station data
  • Using and synthesizing data from various sources into a user-friendly model/dashboard
  • Analyzing, reporting on, and developing recommendations related to EV infrastructure programs



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related analytical field (e.g. Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Statistics) or job-related equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 4 years

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strongly desired: Knowledge of relevant programming languages and tools e.g. SQL (Oracle/Teradata), Python, Power BI / Tableau, or similar programming / data science experience
  • Ability to manipulate/analyze large volumes of data within hardware, software, or databases
  • Ability to develop reports and models
  • Attention to detail and data integrity
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
