At PG&E, the IT Data, Analytics, and Insights organization is focused on unlocking the value of PG&E’s data to support the company’s Wildfire Safety Program. As part of this mission, we deliver data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning products to support business critical initiatives. Some of the products that are being delivered include Remote Inspections, AI Enabled Inspections, Vegetation Management through LiDAR capabilities, Transmission Line Asset Data Foundation, Electric Distribution Asset Data Foundation, Asset Risk Modeling, and a Cloud Native Foundational Platform. A critical part of how we operate is to apply design thinking and Scaled Agile Framework as our methodology.


Position Summary

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager for the Data, Analytics & Insights team. The successful candidate will lead agile teams responsible for delivering business critical data products to our internal clients.  We are looking for a candidate with experience leading analytics-based product delivery from inception to adoption.  The ideal candidate will enjoy creating and selling a vision, collecting requirements from clients, and working with the design and engineering team to break down and prioritize workstreams.  The candidate is expected to have strong articulation skills and the ability to demonstrate measurable business impact.  The candidate should be able to thrive in ambiguous situations and effectively delegate or drive tasks as needed. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Create and drive clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Work with key internal partners to translate business needs into initiatives with well-defined business and technical requirements.
  • Work with Product Owners and Agile scrum teams on design, definition, documentation, and implementation of features for new data products.
  • Document, monitor, and revise the following artifacts in support of application development: product requirements, process maps, use cases, user acceptance criteria, project plans, and release notes.
  • Own, maintain and prioritize the teams' product backlog(s); work with design and engineering product owners and teams to facilitate feature mapping, break features into stories, define acceptance criteria, ensure capacity for enablers and defects.
  • Proven ability to motivate, lead, and collaborate within business and product team, including cross-functional product development teams.
  • Develop partnerships with key business stakeholders across PG&E.




  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Business Administration, or related experience.
  • 10 years combined experience in product development preferably in a Data Analytics environment.



  • Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Program Manager, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or Scrum Master in an agile setting.
  • Experience owning product lifecycle and roadmap.
  • Working knowledge of Data Architecture and Data Transformation and Integration.  Aptitude for understanding, digesting, and analyzing complex systems integration.
  • Propensity for problem solving, develop a deep understanding of dependencies and root causes and create a scalable solution approach.
  • Clear and succinct communications to business and technical partners, leadership, and technology teams.
  • Ability to work independently, grasp new concepts quickly, and be capable of managing data analytics products down to the details.
  • Demonstrated collaboration with strong interpersonal skills; cares about and works well with teammates, technology and business stakeholders.
  • Inquisitiveness and a desire for continuous improvement and development of new skills.
