Department Overview

The Compliance and Ethics Department promotes a culture where employees are enabled and inspired to act with integrity, speak up to raise concerns and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements. To achieve this goal, the Compliance and Ethics Department champions PG&E’s Mission, Vision and Culture with an emphasis on Speak Up, Listen Up, and Follow Up.

 

Within the Compliance and Ethics Department, the Ethics team owns and administers PG&E’s Code of Conduct program. The Code of Conduct Program includes regular communications and annual training of the Code to employees; an ethical decision-making training required annually for all employees; guidance related to the Code of Conduct and other company policies. The Ethics Department also provides resources for employees to raise concerns, identifies and reports on conduct trends, and develops and implements a conduct-related communications program and training.

 

Position Summary

The Principal has accountability for and oversight of C&E’s communication plan and Code of Conduct program. This work promotes a culture of compliance and ethics where employees are enabled and inspired to act with integrity, speak up to raise concerns and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements. The Principal will create and lead internal communication efforts that drive awareness of the Code of Conduct and other C&E initiatives. The Principal will oversee annual C&E week activities and PG&E’s Speak Up Award program. This work requires the Principal to review communications drafted by other team members, edit, and provide feedback. This role will collaborate with diverse stakeholders throughout the company. The Principal will build and maintain relationships with internal business partners and assist with high quality communications. The Principal act as a thought leader and provide strategic counsel on the Code of Conduct.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Own and maintain C&E’s communication plan and day-to-day management of PG&E’s Code of Conduct program

• As needed, manage revising all of PG&E’s Codes of Conduct

• Manage and oversee PG&E’s annual C&E week activities and Speak Up Award

• Regularly measure and analyze communication results to assess productivity impact and alignment to business strategies

• Provide subject-matter expertise and support to internal business partners
• Assist other compliance-related projects and activities, as directed

• Occasional travel throughout PG&E’s service is required

  

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:
---------------------------
• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 8 years of related experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

 

 Desired:

• Experience in corporate or marketing communications, ethics and compliance management, utility operations, diversity and inclusion, media or public relations, or equivalent

• Excellent writing, speaking and listening skills

• Embraces change and demonstrates flexibility when priorities shift

• Ability to work with individuals across a wide spectrum of backgrounds

• Desire to strengthen PG&E's culture

• Ability to influence and work across all levels within the business

Ability to collaborate with senior management and/or corporate executives to support strategic planning and decision making

• Basic understanding of PG& E's investigative process (described in the Code of Conduct)
• Ability to present complex data and technical information in a simple and easy-to-understand manner

• Proven track record of success managing projects and events with diverse stakeholders

• Ability to identify and implement program and process improvement opportunities

• Ability to provide feedback and coach peers and leaders on risk and compliance issues

Experience in coaching and counseling corporate officers and management at all leadership levels of an organization

• Ability to multi-task across multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines
