Department Overview

Finances vision is to build and sustain leading finance capabilities to support PG&E’s vision.

Position Summary

Responsible for communicating to current and potential investors. Works with senior management to describe corporate accomplishments, the financial outlook, and provides other disclosures to the investment community in order to achieve the correct valuation for the company's securities. Communicates investment community perspectives on issues to employees and Board members. Maintains the knowledge base for answering investment community questions by identifying and preparing Q&A throughout the year. Serves as a reliable source of information for the investment community.

 

Job Responsibilities

•Review sell-side analyst reports specific to the company and for the utility industry in general.

•Determine helpful insights to build understanding for Officers and Directors.

•Generate concise summaries of market responses to earnings calls and other events for internal distribution.

•Maintain detailed spreadsheet of analysts’ valuation assumptions.

•Manage comparator group coverage by Finance and Risk analysts to ensure timely, high quality submissions for monthly and intermittent CFO and Board deliverables.

•Develop ad hoc reports and analysis using Ipreo, Bloomberg, and other sources as needed.

•Report on department metrics.

•Ensure senior executives are prepared to answer actual and potential questions from the investment community by drafting concise and accurate Q&A documents.

•Develop and maintain relationships with subject matter experts throughout the company to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date.

•Handle calls from the investment community efficiently and effectively, maintaining a strong customer service approach, and adhering to appropriate disclosure requirements and practices.

•Assist in developing various IR communications as needed.

•Support frequent contact (for IR team and senior executives) with members of the investment community through conferences, on-site visits, and other meetings.

•Research content and create presentations / handouts, draft talking points to maintain consistency with key themes and subjects covered in Q&A documents.

•Requires some travel, up to 10% across the year.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

•Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field or equivalent experience

•Requires a minimum of five years of accounting, finance or related business experience.

 

Desired:

•Understanding of utility financial statements

•Attention to detail and accuracy

•Intellectual curiosity and comfort interacting with senior executives and members of the investment community.

•Proven strong communication (written and spoken) and collaboration skills

•Strong research, analytical and issue resolution skills

•Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with a broad range of employees.

•Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with willingness/ability to learn other databases and systems.

•Bloomberg experience a plus.
