Department Summary

The Material Master File (Materials Catalog) plays a major role in the procurement, storage and distribution of material throughout PG&E.  These products are identified by a six digit number called a Material Master Record (material code). The Coding section of the Supply Chain Management group maintains materials master records and their purchasing conditions by creating, updating, and deleting codes.

 

Position Summary

This position provides support to internal clients by maintaining the Company's internal catalog (Material Master Data) through the creation/revision/deletion of Materials Master Records (codes) and the maintenance of its purchasing /pricing conditions (outline agreement, info. records, split of business and quota arrangements).  The position assists troubleshooting issues solving problems when requisitions don't convert to purchase orders.

 

This is a full-time hourly position.  The working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

 

Responsibilities:

- Maintain Materials Code Request inbox, Review emails and Electronic Document Routing System (EDRS) requests and assigns to Specialists.

- Reviews, researches and analyzes requests from Procurement, Engineering and Warehouse personnel to create, update or delete material master records (material codes, stock keeping records)

- Maintains and validates SAP condition records (outline agreements, quota arrangements and info. records) to ensure material master integrity and is consistent with defined procurement processes.

- Run Bi-Weekly EDRS report for aging requests and send to appropriate clients for their action.

- Manage Do Not Purchase (DNP) report.

- Manage Valuation Class report.

- Maintain Material Master Data desk manual.

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum:

- 2 years of administrative, SAP, or material master data experience

 

Desired:

- Knowledge of SAP Materials Management module

- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

- Strong business, analytical and communication skills

- Demonstrated experience working proactively and independently
