Customer Care Regulatory Policy and Compliance (CCRPC) deliver a broad range of expertise to drive integrated, cross-organizational solutions to complex business problems. By providing strategic counsel and program governance, CCRPC helps the Customer Care organization and in some instances the company overall balance risk, compliance, regulation, operations, and customer experience. Key functional groups include Risk, Compliance and Audits; Customer Privacy; Tariff Interpretation; Records and Project Management; and Regulatory Policy.


Position Summary

Risk, Compliance, and Privacy is responsible for supporting the Customer Care organization and at times the company overall in management of risk and compliance as well as ensuring customer data is kept private and secure.   


The team is looking for a talented summer intern to help support the compliant, efficient, and systemic control of carious regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will apply his or her continuous improvement mindset to deliver key outcomes to aid in achievement of program maturity and efficiency.

Specific identified projects include but will not be limited to:

  • Assisting in development of department communications plan and creating and delivering written and oral presentations to varios stakeholder groups
  • Supporting metrics reporting process for organizations through coordination and analysis
  • Providing support for the annual external assessment by organizing and formatting workpapers

The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced business and process analysts. Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the larger Customer Care organization through the work they will be performing.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earning a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management, Risk and Insurance, Accounting, Finance, or other Business or related discipline. Students MUST be continuing education towards degree during and/or after internship. 


  • Valid driver’s license preferred as position could include up to 10% travel in Northern California
  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Experience in utilities, municipalities, banking, healthcare of other highly regulated entity
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Strong creative problem solving and analytical skills; some process improvement experience (LSS or other) highly desirable
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
