Department Overview

The Customer Care Risk, Compliance and Privacy team delivers a broad range of expertise to drive integrated, cross-organizational solutions to effectively manage risk and compliance for Customer Care and PG&E. By providing strategic counsel and program governance, the team helps the organization balance risk, compliance, regulation, operations, and customer experience.  The Risk and Compliance team develops and implements the compliance governance and risk processes for Customer Care, including ensuring management is engaged, controls are in place, testing and assessments are performed, and corrective actions are managed and monitored through completion.

 

Position Summary

This position supports the Customer Care and associated organizations reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, including Customer Care, Aviation, Transportation Services, IT and Security.  The successful candidate will manage and help to provide assurance over assigned departments’ compliance programs, procedures and systems. He/she will complete SOX and regulatory compliance testing, manage assigned compliance projects such as training governance, and support enterprise compliance initiatives for Metric Stream and shared requirements.

 

This position is responsible for understanding the overall business environment and associated compliance requirements of the assigned business unit and testing controls for design and operating effectiveness.   He/she will support the team as it builds an infrastructure that enables business units, departments and employees to conduct business in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory compliance support to assigned LOB department(s)
  • Complete or review all assessments tested by the business
  • Thoroughly assesses routine compliance impacts and develops action plans to address gaps.
  • Demonstrates full understanding of regulatory policy and compliance concepts.
  • Collaborates with team to provide best practice consultation for assessing internal controls for various business processes.
  • Completes compliance controls, testing, and auditing/monitoring for Customer Care compliance program
  • Assists with the preparation of reports/presentations on the status of all risk and compliance activities.
  • Assists in evaluating control deficiencies in accordance with PG&E’s framework for evaluating control exceptions and deficiencies to conclude on potential impact to PG&E.
  • Assists in all forms of research for information on past, current and of pending future regulatory requirements

 
Qualifications
 
Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in policy, business, accounting, finance, or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of related experience (i.e. compliance, auditing, program/process management/implementation, strategy, regulatory, utility operations)

 
Desired:

  • Familiarity with compliance concepts including regulatory requirements, controls, testing procedures, and risk assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide proactive, high quality customer service while resolving issues
  • Able to develop, document and implement effective regulatory/compliance remediation plans and risk
  • mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to influence and partner effectively  
  • Competency in planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
  • Ability to conduct research as needed to perform at the job level
  • Competency in actively learning through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning fodder
