Department Overview

PG&E's Business Finance team provides critical financial support to its operational Business Partners within the Company.  This support includes financial analysis; budgeting, planning and forecasting; monitoring, controlling and accounting; operational performance reporting and analysis; and strategic planning and analysis. These services are critical to achieving the company's strategic, operational and financial objectives.

Partner Organization

The successful candidate will support the Corporate Real Estate Strategy & Services (CRESS) organization, which is primarily comprised of Facilities Service and Portfolio Planning & Delivery.  The CRESS team is responsible for providing a range of real estate services in line with Company strategy as well as the day to day management of the majority of PG&E’s real estate portfolio.  This includes the planning and management of facilities-related projects as well as the operations of over 7 million square feet of facilities including offices, call centers, customer service offices, data centers, warehouses, service centers, and more. 

Position Summary

The successful candidate will serve in a critical functional support role of the Corporate and Shared Services organizations.  The candidate will serve as a front-line business partner for all finance and accounting support of CRESS’s expenses, including planning, budget, forecasting, tools, and analysis. The successful Senior Analyst will integrate with the client organizations and become a trusted financial and strategic advisor to the leadership team.  The successful candidate will balance and utilize their functional expertise, intellectual curiosity, ethics, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain integrative relationships and ensure best in class decision support and recommendation.

This position is one of only a few on the Corporate and Shared Services team that supports an organization with a portfolio of spend that spans across expense, capital, and non-earnings costs categories; as well as one with direct overhead implications, making it a great opportunity to gain exposure to more complex accounting and cost model structures.  Additionally, there are several highly visible strategic initiatives and projects underway within CRESS that will create opportunities for the successful candidate to engage with and have a meaningful impact on the organization.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Planning (Long Term): Develop, advise, and integrate the business unit financial plans and performance baselines to meet the Company's long term operational and financial objectives.
  • Forecasting (Short Term): Provide timely, balanced forward looking financial assessments that capture current performance and enable nimble, value optimized operational and financial decisions.
  • Reporting & Analysis (Historical): Provide timely and accurate monthly financial visibility that objectively assesses performance, and proactive financial analytics that identify opportunities, risks, and associated resolution recommendations.
  • Regulatory: Serve as the financial backbone for regulatory filings, support, and defense; including CRESS organization and corporate items expenses for our General Rate Case filing, Risk Assessment Mitigation Phase (RAMP) filing. 

Other Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: Identify, and evaluate key processes for opportunities in effectiveness, control, and efficiency, and recommend and implement improvements.
  • Tools: Provide active engagement on the evaluation, design, and use of our critical functional toolset.
  • Governance: Implement and maintain functional governance standards and provide feedback on areas of opportunity.





  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of related functional experience (business, mathematics, statistics, engineering - based)
