Department Overview

Gas Operations oversees the natural gas transmission and distribution operations. The team maintains and operates 6,700 miles of gas transmission pipeline, 43,000 miles of distribution main, 3.6 million gas services, three PG&E-owned storage facilities with 102 BCF capacity, nine compressor stations with 175K HP, and 5,000 measurement and control facilities. Gas Operations is comprised of approximately 6,000 coworkers.

 

Position Summary

Oversees the Quality Control Compliance teams which perform quality assessments on Gas T&D As-Built documentation for gas infrastructure. Oversees Subject Matter Experts who provide technical advice in the building of standards and procedures for gas operations.

 

Works with the Gas Quality Management, Senior Manager and larger Quality Management team supporting the Quality Management System for Gas Transmission & Distribution.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $140,000

Bay Area Maximum: $238,000

&/OR

California Minimum: $​133,000

California Maximum: $226,000

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees the QC teams in their quality assessments
  • Collaborates with Gas Operations ELT on recommendations for changes to procedures and standards using data from QC assessment findings.
  • Provides and presents dashboard and high-level information to PG&E leadership on status of QC Assessments.
  • Provides safety leadership by holding self and other employees accountable for implementation of, our company virtues, the code of safe practices and human performance tools.
  • Ensures incidents and near misses are thoroughly investigated and reported in a timely manner.
  • Staffs and actively participates in the organization’s safety program.
  • Ensures that training is completed and properly documented. 
  • Recruit/select, communicate expectations, foster employee engagement, coach, develop, mentor, recognize and reward employees in order to drive performance and results. Manages Supervisor, Professional, Support, Bargaining-Unit Employees, and Contractors.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in in Engineering, Management, Construction Management or other related discipline.
  • Leadership experience, 3 years
  • Experience in business, job-related, 8 years

Desired:

  • Leadership experience
  • QC experience
  • Experience in quality management/auditing, 5 years
  • SAP experience
  • Microsoft suite
  • Experience in gas operations (maintenance and construction)
  • Ability to apply quality management systems and quality assurance and control theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques - for example ISO 9001 Quality Management System - as needed to perform at the job level
