Department Overview:
Electric Operations (EO) ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response. 

 

Electric Operations Construction Management is responsible for the construction, project and contract management of PG&E’s electric distribution overhead and underground facilities. This role will be part of the Construction Management, Commercial Enablement & Vendor Management team responsible for empowering Construction Management with strategic insight, efficient contract management, and data-driven decisions to deliver reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions. 

 

Position Summary:
The Electric Program Manager, Senior executes and manages Construction Management electrical-related projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The incumbent will be embedded within the Commercial Contract Strategy and Compliance Enablement team to provide oversight, governance, communication, and reporting, as well as overall process and project management for the assigned program. 

 

Disclosure:

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. 

 

The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Pay Range: 

  • Minimum:  $97,00
  • Midpoint:  $125,00
  • Maximum:  $154,00

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Applies advanced knowledge of Program Management to wide-ranging issues and assignments. Works independently with guidance on only the most complex issues. May lead project teams. May work with other project or program managers or peers in other departments or regions to reschedule work, re-allocate funds and explore other means to achieve financial and productivity goals.
  • Collaborates with manager on the development of annual productivity targets for work to be completed in the program. Understands program commercial terms, units, and pricing methods to develop  forecasts, monitors spending, and present variance explanations. Works closely with peers and leaders in line of business to ensure financial targets are understood and achieved. 
  • Performs trend analysis to identify cost drivers and develop and execute mitigation plans to improve business results. Administers identified program work or projects. Tracks activity and completions. Prepares reports and status updates and presents to manager and/or key program stakeholders. Performs trend analysis to identify issues with costs or productivity and develop recommendations. Receives limited guidance from manager on complex issues.
  • Collaborates with Sourcing to ensure operations priorities are captured across key initiatives and negotiations. May manage the process of awarding some program work to outside Suppliers in coordination with Sourcing through the RFx process. Supports project intake, requisition submissions, PO management, approval process and commercial forecasting of requisition requests for goods and services to ensure timely procurement. This involves coordinating with various departments and ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
  • Works collaboratively with peers and partner organizations and divisions to develop and implement new or improved processes, controls and procedures to improve program compliance, efficiencies and customer satisfaction. Develops communication and training for assigned programs. Ensures target audience is fully educated in the purpose of the program and the proper processes and requirements to follow. May assists more senior peers on communication and training for larger, more complex programs. Ensures ongoing regulatory compliance with the program.

 

Qualifications:
Minimum: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years’ total related experience.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of electric utility processes, regulatory requirements, critical success factors, goals, initiatives, and work execution processes
  • Good communication and influence skills
  • Prior experience managing programmatic work. Prior experience developing partnerships with external stakeholders for work execution
  • Experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Contracts and Logistics or development of commercial contract strategies, contract development, administration, and performance management
  • Knowledge of strategic planning principles, project management, and process improvement best practices  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
