Department Overview

PG&E’s Underground Program organization is working to reduce wildfire risk each day as we underground 10,000 miles of distribution lines.  We are responsible for working across all internal teams and engaging external stakeholders to support successfully meeting our goals and reducing wildfire risk in our hometowns.  We work in an exciting and fast-paced environment. 

 

Position Summary

This position will primarily focus on supporting complex projects, ensuring successful execution and alignment with business objectives. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and data-driven decision-making to drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in program and project management, a strategic mindset, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

 

As a Program Manager, Senior, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, Contract Specialists, Project Managers, and external partners to ensure seamless project execution, efficient resource allocation, and timely delivery of business priorities. You will also support senior leadership with strategic initiatives, reporting, and process improvements, leveraging data and insights to optimize performance.

 

This role requires excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, along with an understanding of project management methodologies and industry best practices.

 

Disclosure:

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. 

 

The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Pay Range: 

  • Minimum:  $100,00
  • Midpoint:  $130,00
  • Maximum:  $161,00

 
Job Responsibilities 

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment on program objectives.  Actively participate in daily, weekly, and monthly business operating reviews, providing insights and recommendations to optimize efficiency and performance. Ensure Accurate Project Scheduling & Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with Contract Specialists to verify and update project start dates, ensuring alignment with Project Managers and overall business objectives. Resource Planning & Construction Work Plan Management. Work in partnership with the project management team to ensure timely resource assignments and accurate updates in the construction work plan. Maintain Transparency in Work Assignments
  • Ensure internal and external construction teams remain informed of current work assignments, proactively addressing any scheduling conflicts or resource constraints. Support Strategic Initiatives & Special Projects. Assist the Principal Portfolio Manager with high-impact initiatives, process improvements, and special projects to drive business success. 
  • Oversee Dashboard Maintenance & Reporting. Manage and update performance dashoards, ensuring accurate, real-time data is available for decision-making and strategic planning. Oversee data integrity and reporting across various databases, ensuring accurate tracking of key metrics and program deliverables. Partner with cross functional teams to manage end-to-end process for contract execution and contractor onboarding.

 

Qualifications
Minimum:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
  • Six Plus (6+) years of relevant experience in program management, or a related field.Bachelor degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of energy industry applications, including energy efficiency programs, local-level customer needs, and regulatory considerations. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% as required.

Desired: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and drive results with minimal leadership oversight.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, proactive solutions while resolving complex issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other productivity tools at an intermediate level or higher.
  • Strong presentation and time management skills, with the ability to communicate insights effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and adapt to shifting priorities with minimal direction.
