Position Summary 

The Expert Storage Product Owner will guide cross-functional Agile teams in delivering secure, scalable, and business-aligned storage solutions on-premises and in the cloud. This role will translate product strategy into clear requirements, create product roadmaps, manage KPIs, leads asset management plan for storage products, manage and prioritize the product backlog, support delivery planning, and partner closely with business, engineering, operations, cyber, and product stakeholders to maximize value across enterprise technology initiatives. 

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position.  The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.  The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint $132,000 - $179,000.  The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

  

Bay Area Min: $ 132,000 

Bay Area Max: $ 226,000 

  

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and 1-2 days per week at our Oakland Headquarters based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.  

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead Scrum teams as the Product Owner, ensuring alignment among. business priorities, product strategy, and delivery execution.
  • Provide vision and direction to Agile development teams and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Maintain a healthy, well-groomed backlog of prioritized work for the delivery team.
  • Lead release planning and set clear expectations for delivery of new functionality.
  • Understand business pain points, desired outcomes, and value drivers to clearly articulate product value.
  • Communicate effectively with executive, business, functional, and technical stakeholders.
  • Serve as a bridge between business, product, and engineering teams to support shared understanding, vendor strategies, and evaluations.
  • Participate in BPD planning and support alignment between planning activities and delivery outcomes.
  • Develop implementation plans and establish teams to introduce new storage technologies and capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging storage products and technologies.
  • Develop strategies to reduce storage technical debt and communicate product release and end-of-service-life updates to team members.
  • Lead asset management plan for storage inventory.
  • Develop and maintain storage, data protection, and ransomware product roadmaps that align technology capabilities with business priorities.
  • Partner with stakeholders to manage contracts and licenses.
  • Define, measure, track, and report KPIs for the storage platform.
  • Serve as a secondary backup for the Data Protection/Ransomware Product Owner.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Five years of job-related experience as a Product Owner

 

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Five years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile environment
  • Product Owner, Scrum Master, or other Agile certification
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent cloud platform certification
  • Knowledge of Agile software development principles, values, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques relevant to the role
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and lead behavioral change
  • Ability to apply knowledge of the business and marketplace to advance organizational goals
  • Willingness to contribute beyond defined role responsibilities
  • Experience with BPD planning or related business planning processes
  • Experience with storage technologies (i.e. PowerMax, Unity, Isilon, PowerVault, IBM Flash, AWS S2, Switches)
  • Experience with data protection technologies (i.e. Data Domain, PPDM)
  • Experience with Ransomware technologies
