Position Summary

PG&E is seeking an experienced program manager to serve as a Senior Program Manager within Electric Risk and Compliance. In this role, you will drive delivery of key governance and execution initiatives—including direct support of leadership forums and committees and the end‑to‑end management of commitments and corrective actions. You will translate complex priorities into clear program plans, drive disciplined execution, and ensure leaders have visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions.

The Senior Program Manager will partner closely with Governance, Compliance, Electric Operations, Engineering, Wildfire, Regulatory Affairs, and Data & Tools teams to align agendas, materials, action tracking, and decision follow‑through for key leadership forums and committees. This role will also strengthen commitment execution by improving planning, change control, and performance visibility across owners. Success requires strong stakeholder leadership, structured problem‑solving, and the ability to operate effectively across ambiguity in a highly regulated environment.

The selected candidate must live within PG&E’s service territory.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)            $105,000.00

Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)        $137,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)           $169,000.00

Minimum Base Salary (California)         $100,000.00

Mid Base Salary (California)      $130,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (California)        $161,000.00

Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead end‑to‑end program planning and execution for leadership forum/committee support and commitments initiatives, including scope, schedule, resourcing, and delivery milestones.
  • Establish governance routines (cadence, decision logs, action tracking, escalation paths) to drive forum/committee readiness and timely closure of actions and decisions.
  • Build integrated workplans across priority topics discussed in leadership forums/committees and commitment portfolios; manage cross‑functional dependencies and critical path to protect delivery commitments.

Commitments & Corrective Actions Enablement

  • Drive execution of cross‑functional initiatives that improve compliance outcomes, with emphasis on commitments and corrective actions (e.g., ownership clarity, change control, recovery plans, readiness activities, governance improvements).
  • Partner with subject matter experts and owners to translate regulatory and internal requirements into commitment deliverables, acceptance criteria, due dates, and measurable outcomes.
  • Support prioritization and sequencing by surfacing tradeoffs, constraints, and impacts across leadership‑forum priorities and commitment portfolios; ensure alignment to material risks and leadership intent.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Prepare forum/committee and executive‑ready updates that communicate progress, risks, decisions needed, and recommended actions—including commitment status, at‑risk items, and recovery plans.
  • Facilitate working sessions, pre‑briefs, and leadership touchpoints to align on direction, resolve ambiguity, and maintain momentum.
  • Build trust across matrixed organizations through proactive communication, disciplined follow‑through, and consistent closure of action items and commitment deliverables.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of related experience

Desired

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional programs, driving execution, and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
  • Experience in a regulated environment (utility, energy, safety, risk, compliance, audit, or similar).
  • Strong facilitation and structured problem solving skills (e.g., root cause analysis, issue triage, action planning).
  • Ability to develop executive ready materials and communicate tradeoffs, risks, and recommended actions clearly.
  • Experience partnering with Engineering and Operations teams to deliver complex programs.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
