Department Overview

The Clean Energy Transportation (CET) group is focused on accelerating the adoption of clean vehicles in California. CET leads a ~$0.5B portfolio of transportation electrification (TE) programs to increase the adoption of clean vehicles in California as we work to address one of the largest contributors to climate change – and we need a motivated, organized strategic thinker to support the execution of this portfolio. We serve PG&E’s customers by deploying electric vehicle programs to increase access to charging infrastructure, reduce total cost of electric vehicle ownership, educating our customers and pursuing innovative solutions to unlock additional benefits to EV drivers and the grid.

Team Overview:

CET’s EV Customer Programs team (EVCP) creates, deploys, and manages clean energy transportation programs in support of PG&E’s strategy to connect 3 million EVs to its grid. To do this, the team is focused on:

  • ideating and developing innovative programs to ensure we invest in all our communities,
  • reimagining how we build the transmission and distribution grid to enable mass EV adoption,
  • strategizing how we can enable and deploy our clean energy programs at scale,
  • collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we serve our EV customers in a way that inspires joy and builds trust.

 

Position Summary:

The EVCP team is looking for a Strategic Analyst to support our EV Program Managers with our portfolio of customer programs. This individual will work closely with our Program Managers to identify areas of need and deliver on solutions that facilitate the success of our programs.

 

The successful candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, research, and project management. The candidate will have excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills while demonstrating attention to details.

 

Experience with transportation electrification, electric vehicles, EVSE installation and construction projects is highly recommended.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA.

 

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position.  The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.  The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum to the midpoint of the range.  The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

 

Bay Area Minimum: $102,000.00

Bay Area Midpoint: $127,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $152,000.00

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides analytical support to EVCP Program Managers with the goal of increasing program participation, streamlining operations, and identifying key program trends
  • Gathers data from a suite of programs, analyzes trends, and generates insights for the Team in support of our regulatory and compliance goals
  • Monitors electric vehicle technology and market trends and communicates new developments to the Team and broader stakeholders
  • Supports the development of projects, programs, and other activities to accelerate adoption of electric vehicles in PG&E’s service area

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Policy, Business, Finance, Sociology, Engineering, Physics or other related fields or equivalent work experience
  • 4 years of job-related experience

 

Desired:

  • Experience in a program management, economic analysis, business/research analyst or management/environmental consulting role.
  • You enjoy working with others, have invested time and effort into building your communication skills, and have experience collaborating across different stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
  • Meticulous with excellent organization and time management skills
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more high-impact areas within Clean Transportation
  • Knowledge of clean transportation, vehicle grid integration, demand response, distribution planning and/or operations and associated technologies
  • Background in solving complex problems, effectively articulating, and visualizing the results
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritize and deliver quality results on time
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
