Position Summary

Analyzes and proposes system solutions for the Line of Business and IT organizations. Acts as a strategic partner and business liaison who understands business content, procedures, processes and systems. Assembles, analyzes, and translates business requirements into detailed requirements and functional specifications. Performs feasibility analysis; develops project scope; provides recommendations on the alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization. Analyzes business needs and defines detailed requirements and validates solutions with the client.


PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

Pay range: $109,000.00 - $156,200.00

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and our Oakland Headquarters based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Able to analyze and design solutions independently with limited guidance.
  • Able to lead medium to high complexity level requirements efforts and coaching or mentoring less experienced business analysts.
  • Able to perform peer review of requirements and designs documents.
  • Able to work effectively with other groups to persuade, exchange ideas and foster cooperation.
  • Actively contribute to the business cases for IT projects and initiatives.
  • Analyze end-to-end business processes of moderate to high complexity and information needs of the clients in one or more business functional areas.
  • Anticipate client concerns and questions, and provide timely and professional client-focused communications.
  • Communicate IT processes to the business clients.
  • Comply with SOX and other standard process requirements.
  • Define and document business requirements for moderate-to-complex projects.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of concepts, principles or practices in a specific business area.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with a number of the following areas: testing, project management, related Lines of Business, software development, SOX compliance, regulatory compliance, operational/disaster recovery, operations, maintenance, etc.
  • Demonstrates seasoned, experienced- based judgment in applying and adapting techniques with high credibility of the project team members.
  • Evaluate and document alternatives that will provide the most effective solutions to business problems.
  • Identify, propose and influence IT solutions to moderate-to-complex business problems; negotiate requirements and deliverables with the client.
  • May perform various additional activities, such as operation and maintenance support, application testing, etc.
  • May provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced employees.
  • Participates in project estimates.
  • Prepare or review test plans and perform quality reviews of test results.
  • Provide consulting in information technology to the client to identify and satisfy the business needs.
  • Provide timely responses to client inquiries.
  • Review design and technical specification documents for alignment with business solution.
  • Understand the client’s current and future business environment, effectively anticipate, identify and meet the business needs.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems, Business, Engineering, etc. or equivalent work experience
  • 4 years of experience in analyzing, designing and developing functional requirements, functional design, UX/UI design
  • 3 years experience in business analysis
  • Experience in project participation, high complexity


Desired:

  • Working knowledge of relational databases (SQL experience)
  • Working knowledge of UML
  • Be able to work independently but within the framework of the team and product
  • Be able to work well within a team setting
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to maintain efficiency, consistency and achieve successful implementation of system enhancement
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite of applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 3 years of experience with Oracle CC&B applications, and data modeling
  • Experience dealing with Call Center and/or Back Office centric business
  • Understanding of database/schema architecture
