Department Overview

Strategy and Innovation (S&I) is responsible for the creation of transformative, scalable solutions to interlocking utility challenges through the development of third-party partnerships and the deployment of new technology that directly accelerates PG&E’s long-term strategy. Providing leadership and oversight of non-traditional utility partnerships, R&D, solutions management, load management, electric vehicles/clean energy transportation, and business development. 

 

Position Summary

Position is responsible for supporting S&I in the development of data products that enable actionable business insights. The position will be primarily responsible for developing data visualization products, leading waste elimination efforts through automation and supporting the organization’s data needs to enable strategic decision making.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA. 

 

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position.  The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.  The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the range.  The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Bay Area Minimum: $102,000.00

Bay Area Midpoint: $132,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $162,000.00

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Integrates industry knowledge into everyday business practices and decision making
  • Works with client groups to develop solutions that enable greater visibility into the business
  • Leads waste elimination initiatives focused on the automation of current data processes and emerging data needs
  • Develops and implements lean data visualizations
  • Supports the fulfillment of regularly occurring metric deliverables and business performance measures
  • Supports team to fulfil data requests
  • Prepares and may lead preparation of analysis and data to help guide policy issues
  • Prepares and may lead preparation of regulatory data requests

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science or other related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

 

Desired:

  • Familiarity with utilities, operations, energy efficiency and demand side management concepts and programs (preferred).
  • Advanced Tableau and/or Power BI dashboard development skills
  • Proficiency in query writing in SQL and/or Python
  • Advanced knowledge of PG&E data sources including (CDW, Teradata, Salesforce)
  • Lean or other process improvement certifications
