Department Overview

The Enterprise Governance and Shared Compliance (EG&SC) group within General Counsel, Ethics, Risk and Compliance (GC ERC) provides leadership, strategic direction, and critical oversight of cross‑cutting governance and compliance matters across the enterprise. EG&SC oversees and expands enterprise programs supporting compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC), and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) cybersecurity and privacy requirements.

A core aspect of this function is leading and supporting: coordination, governance, and implementation of critical cross‑functional compliance requirements; ensuring adherence to standardized enterprise and operational compliance risk mitigations.

 

Position Summary

The Compliance and Risk Consultant, Senior role serves as a recognized subject‑matter expert in NERC Compliance, as well as the primary interface with our regulator when discussing specific compliance and risk mitigation strategies,

 

Partnering closely with intradepartmental personnel and key stakeholders across the enterprise, a key objective of this role is to ensure accuracy and transparency in what gets reported to our regulator, while also driving visibility to key stakeholders and leadership of the expectations from our regulator when it comes to key risk mitigation activities.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business needs or company requirements. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.

 

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

 

Bay Area Min: $105,000

Bay Area Mid: $137,000

Bay Area Max: $169,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads management of Requests for Information from our regulators and other external partners.
  • Develops dashboards for executive leadership and business-line use.
  • Provides enterprise governance over key processes supporting compliance.
  • Performs and oversees compliance and control testing, audits, or other validation processes and analyzes risk or compliance metrics.
  • May respond to regulatory data requests, investigations, audits, and other inquiries.
  • Identifies new/changing requirements or standards and ensures programs and tools are updated accordingly.
  • Verifies reports, audits documentation, and validates content in database / risk register.
  • Participates in or may lead root cause analysis exercises.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • At least one year of experience in PowerBI or other Business Intelligence solutions

 

Desired Qualifications

  • 2 years' experience managing compliance/risk programs or controls
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of regulatory policy and compliance concepts, and/or risk management
  • Understanding of and ability to apply internal control concepts and/or risk analysis & assessment
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate complex data effectively to a variety of audiences including directors
  • Ability to influence others in order to achieve understanding, acceptance, and commitment to act
  • Highly flexible, self-directed, and able to adapt well to a rapidly changing environment
  • Advanced skills in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to work in an office environment with extensive use of computers and numerous phone calls, conference calls, and in-person meetings
  • Strong Excel skills a plus
  • Experience with SQL strongly desired
  • Prior NERC compliance experience desired
