The System Hardening and Underground Program is dedicated to reducing wildfire risk by strengthening our electric distribution system in high fire-threat areas. Position Summary

The Manager of Regulatory Operations is a new positions designed to support the expanding regulatory activities of the System Hardening and Underground Program. This leader will oversee the preparation and distribution of data responses, and support the filings for multiple regulatory proceedings, including the Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP), General Rate Case (GRC), Wildfire Mitigation and Catastrophic Events (WMCE), and the 10-Year Electrical Underground Plan (EUP). The Manager will lead a team of analysts responsible for coordinating, visualizing, and implementing regulatory requirements, ensuring PG&E remains compliant, achieves full cost recovery, and strengthens its wildfire mitigation programs.

 

Disclosure:

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. 

 

The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Pay Range: 

 

  • Minimum:  $144,00
  • Midpoint:  $194,00
  • Maximum:  $244,00

 

 Key Responsibilities

 

  • Regulatory Operations Oversight: Manage all regulatory operations for system hardening proceedings, ensuring compliance with decisions and financial reporting requirements.
  • Commitment Tracking: Identify, monitor, and maintain commitments and compliance requirements for the system hardening program.
  • Data Response Coordination: Oversee timely and accurate responses to regulatory agencies, including data requests and reporting obligations. Coordinate with cross-functional partners to ensure efficient, automated, and timely data request tracking and delivery.
  • Application & Filing Reporting: Support preparation of applications, testimony, forecasting materials, exhibits, models, work papers, and discovery responses.
  • Analytical Support: Provide high-level analysis for regulatory, policy, and business initiatives tied to relevant proceedings, as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed on trends, issues, and developments impacting regulatory compliance operations and wildfire mitigation.

 

 

Additional Responsibilities

 

  • Operationalize the Lean standards by maintaining regulatory team dashboards and visualizations for transparency and performance monitoring.
  • Maintain and implement regulatory playbook for governance standards, including strong maintenance of evidence documentation and commitments tracking.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of commitments tracking and governance processes.
  • Standardize data gathering and reporting requirements for strong reasonableness reviews and cost recovery showing.
  • Leverage AI and relevant tools and technology to optimize data response delivery and automate tracking systems.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public policy, finance, engineering or related discipline or equivalent utility industry experience
  • Eight (8) years of relevant work experience
  • Leadership experience

Desired:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in operations, AI, Lean, regulatory matters, utility industry
  • Ability to travel up to 10 percent of working time
