Department Overview: 

Over 6,500 coworkers in Electric T&D ensure the delivery of clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. The Electric T&D Team is responsible for ensuring the electric grid's reliability and resiliency through the ongoing maintenance and operations of PG&E's 100,000 miles of distribution lines and over 18,000 miles of Transmission lines. Coworkers in Electric T&D's actively engage in the Lean Methodology through the use of Visual Management in Operating Reviews to cross-functionally identify and solve problems, and create standard work. Position Summary:

Manages aspects of program implementation and operations for Electric Transmission Engineering. Ensures program is operating effectively. Responsibilities typically include some or most of the following in support of Program Management to ensure attainment of program metrics/objectives.

  • Managing relationship with and providing direction to vendor(s).
  • Developing and monitoring budgets and forecasts.
  • Developing, measuring, and reporting on success of the program.
  • Partnering with the Marketing organization, vendors and external partners to develop and implement strategies to reach appropriate customer audience at the appropriate time.
  • Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners.
  • Partnering with Regulatory and Compliance staff to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and support regulatory activities by supplying information for filings, data requests, and meeting with regulators.
  • Identifying stakeholders and communicate within and outside of PG&E.
  • Developing and/or implementing policies and procedures.
  • Identifying new partners, technologies, and delivery channels.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​144,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $​244,000.00

California Minimum: $​137,000.00

California Maximum: $232,000.00

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages major cross functional programs and initiatives.
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced employees.
  • Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support Company goals.
  • Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives. Collaborates across organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program.
  • Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals.
  • Organize and lead cross-utility project teams to influence utility, regulatory and/or industry decisions.
  • Analyze program management and engineering work practices and recommend process improvements.
  • Support special initiatives and cross-functional efforts to address program risks or performance gaps.
  • Contribute to development and standardization of tools, templates, and best practices for program management.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of related experience or equivalent
  • Travel may be required

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience supporting electric transmission engineering, construction, or maintenance programs
  • Working knowledge of capital and expense program financial management
  • Proficiency using SAP for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with utility project management, portfolio management, and governance processes
  • Experience developing performance metrics and management reports
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in ambiguous environments
  • Ability to collaborate and influence outcomes without direct supervisory authority
  • Experience supporting complex projects or programs in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements
  • Deep knowledge and expertise of business and/or industry drivers
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
