Department Overview

Enterprise Business & Technology Modernization is a cross-functional organization leading PG&E’s Propel and Elevate programs, a major business and technology modernization initiative designed to unlock customer value by simplifying collaborative work processes. Position Summary

As an Elevate Program Manager (Data Lead) for Power Generation and IT Telecom, this position will oversee both tactical and strategic elements of data management for two functional areas within PG&E. This position will work directly with the Functional Area Lead(s) for the Power Generation and IT Telecom Functional Areas to ensure data integrity, alignment with enterprise standards, and readiness for system transitions and transformational opportunities.  

As a Program Manager (Data Lead) you will provide guidance to internal and external program resources in a “badge less” environment, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and application owners, bring domain knowledge and technical expertise to bear against complex problems in order to drive the implementation of modern functional-area specific GIS solutions. 

  

The successful candidate will be instrumental in: 

  • Supporting the Elevate Program’s transformation goals by ensuring data is clean, structured, and aligned with enterprise architecture for the program. 
  • Bringing offline datasets into a system of record 
  • Assisting in vendor coordination for data-related deliverables, including contracts and implementation. 
  • Facilitating cross-functional collaboration to improve data flows between GIS, asset management, and operational systems. 
  • Ensure that there is alignment of the technical solution to business objectives and changes. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland office approximately 2 - 3 days per week, or more, based on business needs.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

Bay Area: $122,000 – 173,800

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Acts as a program liaison to the Power Generation / Telecom Functional Area and coordinates with Elevate Program team. 
  • Reviews vendor deliverables and contracts.
  • Communicates project status to all stakeholders.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues.
  • Presents findings and makes recommendations to management.
  • Integrates industry knowledge related to data and GIS technology into everyday business practices and decision making.  
  • Ability to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing to diverse groups of people 
  • Works [facilitates meetings] with all levels of management and senior leadership across functions to influence decisions. 
  • Performs analysis on complex data requiring customized reports and presents recommendations.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 8 years

 

Desired:

 

  • Master’s degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
  • Ability to influence leaders inside and outside of the department through data analysis, insights and recommendations 
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams  
  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs 
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact 
  • Excellent negotiation skills 
  • Knowledge of enterprise geodatabase fundamentals 
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro and SAP 
  • Power Generation or Telecom Industry Knowledge
