Department Overview

Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.

 

Position Summary

Construction Services encompasses Spoils Operations, Traffic Control, and Paving Operations throughout the service territory supporting both gas and electric work groups. The Construction Services Program Manager is responsible for overseeing operations and improvement projects within Construction Services. The Program Manager ensures projects are completed per company standards using safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale to measure success.

 

Job Responsibilities

· Applies broad expertise and advanced knowledge to wide-ranging issues.

· May act as a team lead and provide direction to less experienced employees.

· Works with Directors and Managers across functions to influence decisions.

· Communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences using a variety of media.

· Integrates industry knowledge related to data into everyday business practices and decision making.

· Provides others with guidance around complex industry regulatory and compliance environment and considerations.

· Creates new and complex data models to facilitate business decisions.

· Provides direction on overall program.

· Performs in-depth quality assurance final reviews and contract drafts.

· Develops new or revises existing scopes of work to ensure compliance standards and deliverables are established.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

· Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

· Job-related experience, 8 years

· Ability to travel up to 25 percent of working time

 

Desired:

· Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience

· PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification

· Advanced knowledge of Program Management

· Ability to influence leaders inside and outside of the department through data analysis, insights and recommendations

· Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams

· Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs

· Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact

· Excellent negotiation skills
