Department Overview

Electric Operations ensures the delivery of clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. The Electric Operations Team is responsible for ensuring the electric grid's reliability and resiliency through the ongoing maintenance and operations of PG&E's 100,000 miles of distribution lines and over 18,000 miles of Transmission lines. Coworkers in Electric Operations actively engage in the Lean Methodology through the use of visual management in operating reviews to cross-functionally identify and solve problems, and create standard work. By working together as One Electric. One Team. We are delivering for our hometowns. Electric Operations is comprised of approximately 6,500 coworkers.

 

Position Summary

Acts as a liaison between the work stream manager and other leadership throughout the organization. Provides planning, strategic analysis, and operational support. Facilitates, directs, and coordinates activities and special projects related to the operations of the work stream. Solves problems, mediates disputes, and addresses issues before they are escalated to the manager. Builds effective partnerships and promotes collaborative relationships throughout the organization. Measures and analyzes performance and supports process improvement and lean management.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will at our San Ramon or Oakland, CA office. 


PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
 
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $140,000
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads cross-functional teams to support the lean maturity of the organization with development of metrics, balanced scorecards, dashboards, and trend performance analytics for use at various Weekly & Monthly Operating Reviews
  • Leads materials development for Weekly Operating Reviews for Electric Transmission and Substation, coordinating with stakeholders on action items and deliverables. Leads visual management weekly setup of Electric T&S Delivery WOR/MOR in Dublin
  • Supports development of Catchback Plans using Lean guideposts, partnering with leaders cross-functionally to understand variance drivers and plans to deliver on key targets successfully
  • Collaborates with and provides analytical support Program Managers to forecast year-end results based on current trends, provides analytic support for weekly stakeholder meetings to drive work execution pipeline
  • Supports Planning Process by working with multiple stakeholder groups. 
  • Analyze work processes across the portfolio and making recommendations on how to integrate and improve processes.
  • Provide analysis for workload efficiency and making recommendations on future resource needs based on the data
  • Lead special projects to resolve urgent issues
  • Lead the efforts to gather and provide data for industry research papers, reports and studies
  • Gather, compile, and provide data, reports, and information for executive presentations and regulatory requests
  • Lead cross functional teams to integrate work performed, may manage major cross functional projects and initiatives
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced specialists
  • May act as a team lead and provide direction to less experienced specialists

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in gas industry, job-related, 10 years

 

Desired:

  • Experience in utility industry 
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
