Department Overview

The Electrification and Decarbonization (E&D) team is creating an electrified California where customers choose efficient and decarbonized buildings and transportation. E&D leads a ~$0.5B annual portfolio of transportation electrification (TE), energy efficiency (EE), and building electrification (BE) programs to accelerate efficient electrification in California as we work to address some of the largest contributors to climate change – and we need a motivated, organized, strategic thinker to help us manage this newly combined portfolio.

We focus on safety and quality, invest in our team’s success, solve problems, strive to be better, work as an integrated team, and build trusted relationships. We are intellectually curious. We are looking to collaborate with passionate, thoughtful people who want to make a real impact. Come join our team and help drive the transition to efficient and decarbonized buildings and transportation.

Position Summary

The E&D team was recently created by bringing together PG&E’s Clean Energy Transportation and Building Electrification and Efficiency Programs teams. Each team has or is developing long term electrification goals – including a goal to connect 3 million electric vehicles (EV) to the grid by 2030, enabling at least 550MW of flexible load from vehicle-grid-integration (VGI) applications, and electrifying millions of appliances. Our goal is to develop comprehensive electrification goals and strategies and create organizational efficiencies and alignment to drive one consistent electrification customer experience. The Principal Strategic Analyst will split their time (1) setting up and executing controls to run the business consistently across the organization and (2) leading cross-functional strategic initiatives to align and advance PG&E’s electrification and decarbonization strategy in alignment with the broader Strategy and Innovation (S&I) team’s strategies (e.g., Load Management, Innovation and Partnerships).
