Department Overview

The Distributed Generation Programs team oversees PG&E’s Distributed Generation (DG) programs including several DG-related rates and incentive programs to increase the availability of DG in disadvantaged communities. The DG team is also leading the facilitation of meter socket adapter adoption by customers. The team interacts regularly with regulators, vendors, industry experts, external stakeholders, and the Energy Division of the CPUC. We also collaborate extensively with other departments in PG&E to support and enhance the DG customer experience and proactively drive new policies. 

 

The DG Programs team is part of the Resiliency and Distributed Generation Solutions team which contributes to PG&E’s Load Management strategy. 

 

Position Summary

The DG Programs team is looking for an exemplary program manager with a knack for collaboration and cross-functional coordination. This individual will report to the DG Program Manager and be responsible for leading multiple complex and cross-functional efforts.

 

As a Principal level Program Manager, the successful candidate will play a central role in team operations. Their workload will be a mix of program-specific management tasks and team-wide efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the testing, evaluation and pilot process for meter socket adapters, coordinate across the team and partner organizations to contribute to PG&E regulatory filings, review and evaluate program budgets and forecasts, and assist in strategic program initiatives.

 

They should have a demonstrated passion for customer programs and have a track record of partnering with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, learning quickly, problem solving against diverse topics, and delivering a streamlined and positive customer experience in a complex environment. They should be an exemplary collaborator, a proactive team contributor, and be comfortable with handling timely decision making in a multi-stakeholder context.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. The preferred work location is in Oakland, CA.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area: $140,000.00 to $207,900.00

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of testing and piloting new meter socket adapter products. This will require extensive internal and external coordination with engineering departments and original equipment manufacturers. While knowledge of this specific technology is not required at the onset, the PM will need to quickly learn technical information.
  • Lead the DG Programs team’s annual compliance submissions in various filings including, but not limited to, the Energy Resource Recovery Account, California Air Resources Board, and Annual Electric True up.
    • Coordinate with team members, Energy Accounting, Finance to compile accurate and complete submissions.
    • Utilize Excel to submit accurate and detailed tables and models
    • Ensure complete data accuracy and integrity throughout the submission process
    • Edit testimony
    • Participate in program audits
  • Lead the implementation of PG&E’s Community Renewable Energy Program upon receipt of program direction from the CPUC
  • Assist the manager in ad hoc program analytics, financial reviews, and modeling requests

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 8 years

 

Desired:

  • Master’s Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience with technical products or services that required adherence to specific standards
  • Proficiency in regulatory compliance, including quantitative and qualitative submissions
  • Demonstrated proficiency in cross-functional project management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly, concisely, and effectively
  • High degree of ownership over work product and responsibilities
  • Ability to flex between working independently and working with collaboration and coordination
