Department Overview 


Electric Asset Management is responsible for the electric system engineering and planning, asset strategy, and risk management across transmission, distribution, and substation asset families. This centralized, risk-informed approach allows PG&E to manage electric risk, asset and system health, interconnections, and performance by using consistent standards, work methods, prioritization, and program sponsorship, while leveraging lessons learned from inspections and asset data to inform asset management decisions. The organization is accountable for asset planning and strategy, standards and work methods, and asset data management for Electric. The Asset Knowledge Management (AKM) team, within Electric Asset Management, is responsible for the management, quality, and access of PG&E’s electric asset data. The team’s objective is to maximize the use and ensure the trustworthiness of PG&E’s critical electric data assets.  

 


Position Summary

 


The Principal Product Development & Enablement Lead provides technical leadership, operational oversight, and people management for the DM&A Product Development workforce supporting enterprise data, analytics, and AI-enabled products. This role serves as the primary leader for support development functions across Reliability, SNAP, Asset Health & Performance, and future analytics products, ensuring delivery excellence, operational stability, and workforce effectiveness.

 


The successful candidate will combine strong people leadership with deep technical expertise, managing a multidisciplinary team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, UI Developers, and Technical Business Analysts while remaining hands-on in the enablement and deployment of advanced analytics, AI/GenAI solutions exploration, and Snowflake as needed. The role will enable scalable support models, drive platform adoption and technical enablement, and help position the organization for continued growth in data and AI-driven product development.

 

 

Position duties may include but are not limited to-

 

 

People Leadership & Workforce Management
•    Lead and manage the workforce supporting DM&A Product Development, including Data Scientists, Data Engineers, UI Developers, Technical Business Analysts, and related technical resources.
•    Provide coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and professional development support to technical staff.
•    Oversee resource planning, onboarding, workload balancing, and workforce capacity management.
•    Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, and technical leaders to align resources with business priorities and delivery commitments.
•    Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
Product Support & Operational Excellence
•    Develop, implement, and mature a comprehensive Operations & Maintenance (O&M) model to support long-term product sustainability.
•    Establish support processes, service level expectations, issue management, and operational governance practices.
•    Monitor product reliability, support performance, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
•    Drive continuous improvements in support delivery, incident management, knowledge management, and operational readiness.
Technical Leadership
•    Provide technical leadership across multiple data and analytics products, ensuring consistent architecture, development standards, and delivery quality.
•    Support development and deployment activities across cloud, analytics, data engineering, AI/GenAI, and visualization platforms, including Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, Microsoft, Amazon Bedrock, Portkey, and related enterprise technology ecosystems.
•    Collaborate with development team members to resolve complex technical challenges and improve product performance.
•    Promote and implement data engineering, and analytics best practices.
•    Contribute to AI governance, responsible AI practices, and technical standards.
Platform Enablement & Training
•    Establish and lead Palantir Foundry related platform training and enablement programs for technical staff.
•    Develop technical learning paths, onboarding materials, and platform best practices.
•    Promote knowledge sharing and technical capability development across the organization.
•    Build platform fluency to improve delivery speed, quality, and product sustainability.
•    Drive cross-functional change management strategies across products to align operational workflows, accelerate platform adoption, and ensure organizational readiness for rollouts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Partner with Product Management, Asset Management, Technology, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between product strategy and execution.
•    Support portfolio planning and prioritization activities.
•    Represent Product Development in technical reviews, governance forums, and stakeholder discussions.
•    Drive effective communication and coordination across teams supporting enterprise analytics products.
Enablement of Technologies
•    Serve as a contributor and/or enabler for AI/GenAI solution development, rapid prototyping, experimentation, and delivery using enterprise-ready technologies such as Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Bedrock, Portkey, and related AI development platforms.
•    Establish technology enablement activities that build technical fluency across data engineering, analytics, AI/GenAI, and product delivery teams.
•    Support migration, integration, and optimization efforts across Snowflake, Palantir Foundry, and related enterprise data platforms.
•    Partner with Product Management, Innovation, platform, governance, and product teams to evaluate and implement emerging technologies that deliver measurable business value.

 

 

Position will require approximately 0-5% of travel time in work schedule. 

 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (Oakland) 

 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 


A reasonable salary range is:

 


Bay Area Minimum:$159,000
Bay Area Maximum:$271,000


This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

•    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
•    7 years of related work experience
•    Experience in mobile development and administration
•    Experience integrating Restful services (APIs)
•    Experience with unit testing frameworks and test-driven deployment
•    Experience with bug tracking and source control

•    8+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, analytics, product development, or related technical disciplines.
•    8+ years of experience leading or managing technical teams, contractors, or development resources.
•    Experience delivering enterprise-scale data, analytics, or digital products.
•    Experience with cloud-based data platforms, application development, data engineering and analytics, and software development practices, including exposure to technologies.
•    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities across a portfolio of projects and products.
•    Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
•    Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Business, or related field.
•    Experience leading multidisciplinary teams consisting of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, UI Developers, and Technical Business Analysts.
•    Experience with some of the key technologies like Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Amazon Bedrock, Portkey, or similar enterprise data, cloud, and AI/GenAI platforms.
•    Experience establishing or managing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and product support functions for enterprise products.
•    Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, Agile delivery methodologies, and DevOps practices.
•    Experience delivering enterprise analytics, reliability, asset management, or operational decision-support solutions.
•    Demonstrated success driving adoption of new technologies, platforms, and technical capabilities across organizations.
•    Experience developing technical training, mentoring programs, and workforce enablement initiatives.
•    Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to balance hands-on technical contributions and organizational leadership.
