Department Overview

 

Enterprise Business Processes is a cross-functional organization that is leading PG&E’s Propel program, a major business and technology modernization program to unlock customer value by simplifying the way we work together. Propel will migrate PG&E to the new version of SAP, S/4HANA, seizing this unique opportunity for PG&E to standardize business processes, clean the technology core, and enable innovation for breakthrough change across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Information Technology. Through a phased approach, Propel will implement process standardization, operating model changes, data improvements, SAP, and other technology applications with a focus on incrementally improving business capabilities and delivering value. Enterprise Business Processes is comprised of multi-disciplinary coworkers with deep functional and industry expertise to design and implement end-to-end business processes and technology solutions following industry leading practices. The team partners closely with IT and external partners to work collaboratively with many stakeholders to adopt standard processes and maximize use of out-of-the-box proven technology solutions to meet business needs. Position Summary

 

Manages Propel Finance workstream program implementation and operations. Ensures program is operating effectively and efficiently.  This role reports to the Propel Finance Solution lead and will have a dotted line to the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure consistency in project management approach and strategy. The successful candidate must be a self-starter; a strategic thinker; execution-oriented; highly organized with attention to detail; and be an excellent communicator (both verbal and written).   

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs. 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ 

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

A reasonable salary range is:​ 

 

Bay Area Minimum:      $140,000       

Bay Area Maximum:     $238,000

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Leads schedule planning, vendor management, and resource planning efforts. 

  • Manages the Risks and Issues log for the team. 

  • Anticipates program challenges and bottlenecks and is resourceful at developing and implementing innovative solutions. 

  • Prepares content for Officer engagement. 

  • Manages time architecture and lean operating structure including developing reports, presentations, and dashboards that succinctly communicate program status and health.  

  • Strategize on how to maximize the use of Command Center and support the execution of it. 

  • Collaborates cross-functionally with other members of the Propel Team including other Solution Tower PMs as well as the Org Readiness and Value Management offices. 

  • Update Jira with status updates, schedule, issues, etc. 

  • Oversees the onboarding process to ensure new team members are set up for success.  

  • Communicates project status to all stakeholders. 

  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues. 

  • Presents findings and makes recommendations to Propel leadership team. 

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 10 years

 

Desired:

 

  • Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience 

  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification 

  • Experience in implementing S4 or other ERP systems 

  • In depth knowledge of energy and/or electric utility industry processes, regulatory requirements, critical success factors, goals and initiatives.  

  • In depth knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, e.g. SAP - rich experience in Finance  

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP transformation programs  

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification or equivalent training in lean management 

  • Advanced data visualization (of structured and unstructured data) and presentation skills to effectively convey complex information to internal and external parties of various levels  

  • Advanced financial management and budgeting skills and business acumen  

  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment and a positive execution-oriented mentality  

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Office 360  

  • Ability to comprehend complex systems to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements  

  • Knowledge of process improvement concepts, methods, and best practices  

  • Expertise in communication, interpersonal/collaboration influence and negotiation and process management  

  • Proficiency in writing and developing internal communications documents
