Department Overview

Marketing and Communications develops, executes, and oversees a broad spectrum of strategic external and internal communications initiatives, provides communications counsel and support to all functional areas, and manages the marketing and corporate branding programs at PG&E.

Position Summary

The Manager of Enterprise Communications & Content Strategy will lead internal-facing messaging and storytelling that highlights our progress, improves joy, and helps coworkers succeed. The role will focus particularly on driving communications tailored for people leaders as well as for our represented coworkers, who are often on the frontlines of serving our customers and hometowns. This involves continuing to evolve the ways and channels for reaching and interacting with various populations of coworkers.

The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office or other PG&E locations within the service territory based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Pay Range display:

Bay Area – $136,000 - $202,400 annually

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that supports business priorities, in collaboration with the Senior Director, Enterprise Communications and Engagement
  • Lead a team that manages editorial planning and strategy across primarily internal channels (intranet, newsletters, executive emails, digital signage, etc.) as well as our external-facing news site
  • Partner with HR and functions across the company to amplify key internal programs, support change management, and drive cultural alignment
  • Create and manage the creation of compelling content that resonates with both frontline and office-based employees
  • Partner with the company’s internal events team, social media team and others on content and engagement strategy
  • Monitor engagement metrics and coworker feedback to optimize content strategy and channel effectiveness
  • Create and manage standards related to enterprise communications and content
  • Explore and help implement ways that AI and new platforms can improve the coworker communications experience
  • Serve as a part of the on-call rotation for emergency response communications, which may include evening and weekend work

 Qualifications

Minimum: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related discipline
  • 8 years of experience in corporate communications
  • CA Class C License, or equivalent with a clean driving record
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging content

Desired:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with communications measurement tools
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate across diverse teams
  • Experience in using generative AI tools in internal communications use cases
  • Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or regulated industries, particularly with a large frontline workforce
  • Experience in corporate environments
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to create engaging visual presentations for various audiences
  • Fluency in social media platforms and strategies
  • Flexibility to travel as needed for event planning and execution.
