Department Overview

The Underground Program organization is working to reduce wildfire risk every day as we underground 10,000 miles of distribution lines.  We are responsible for working across all internal teams and engaging external stakeholders to support successfully meeting our goals and reducing wildfire risk in our hometowns.  We work in an exciting and fast-paced environment. 

 

Position Summary

Supports the Line of Business' (LOB) Lean journey through an understanding of Lean tools, identifying which tools are necessary for each group to meet their goals, designing/implementing Lean deployment plans, and supporting functions to improve operational performance using Lean.

 

Has a responsibility to continuously build Lean knowledge through training and hands-on experiences. Role models Lean behaviors at all times and shares best practices regularly. Spends a significant portion of time in the field (or where the work happens) coaching employees.

 

Disclosure:

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. 

 

The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Pay Range: 

 

  • Minimum:  $118,00
  • Midpoint:  $153,00
  • Maximum:  $188,00

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues. Develops and implements training. Ensures proper leadership engagement, training, change management and communications are in in place related to roll out of new programs.
  • Facilitates problem solving sessions and provides coaching up to Director. Observes Lean behaviors, conducts process confirmations of huddles and other core Lean tools to ensure quality.
  • Designs and deploys core Lean tools and enhancements to existing systems ensuring compatibility and inter-operability.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 6 years
  • CA Class C License, or equivalent

Desired:

  • Experience in business process improvement, applying best practices, product/service deployment and change management
  • Experience with LSS-Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques
  • Experience in change management
  • LSS-Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • LSS-Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent of working time
