The SAP Enterprise Health and Safety Delivery organization provides SAP IT services to Health and Safety, including strategic technology planning, roadmap development, solution design, solution delivery, and solution support.


Position Summary

The IT SAP EHSM (Environmental Health & Safety Management) Functional Analyst, Expert is responsible for developing and supporting IT solutions for Health and Safety business functions. This role is expected to be well-versed in all phases of the software lifecycle—business process analysis, systems analysis, blueprinting, configuration, development oversight, testing, cutover preparation, end-user training, go-live activities, and post go-live support. The role works closely with functional and technical experts and external consultants to design and enhance SAP EHSM capabilities and related applications, ensuring best practices are implemented and business value is realized. The position also requires familiarity with delivery methodologies including Waterfall, Agile/SAFe, and SAP Activate.

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint $128,000 - $173,000. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Bay Area Min: $ 128,000

Bay Area Max: $ 218,000

This position is hybrid, however, the expectation would be to work onsite at our Oakland, CA Headquarters three days per week, or more, based on business needs.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide expert consulting in SAP ERP solutions to business partners and senior IT leadership to identify and satisfy Health & Safety business needs
  • Lead solution design and implementation for SAP S4 Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S/EHSM)
  • Serve as the SAP functional lead on one or more projects; review consultant deliverables and remain accountable for SAP delivery on assigned initiatives
  • Analyze end-to-end, complex business processes and information needs across one or more functional areas (including integration with external entities as applicable)
  • Partner with business teams, technical analysts, and architecture/strategy organizations to develop strategies and plans that integrate SAP into the overall solution landscape
  • Evaluate and document alternatives to deliver the most effective solution to complex business problems
  • Drive requirements and process work products, including requirements documents, current-state (As-Is) and future-state (To-Be) process definition, gap analysis, and system/process designs to close identified gaps
  • Build prototypes as needed; develop functional specifications; and prepare test plans and test scripts
  • Support testing across the lifecycle (unit, integration, regression, and UAT) and obtain business sign-off
  • Provide SAP subject matter expertise to ensure EH&S best practices are adopted
  • Own end-to-end solution considerations for SAP EH&S and interfaces to other SAP and non-SAP systems
  • Support delivery of SAP RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows) aligned to project, enhancement, and production support needs


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science/Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience designing, configuring, and developing complex solutions using SAP Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S/EHSM) modules


Desired:

  • SAP S/4HANA EH&S implementation and/or support experience
  • Experience with SAP EH&S cloud solutions (for example, SAP EHS Workplace) and proficiency in writing requirements documents, functional specifications, and business process flows
  • Experience designing enhancements, reports, and interfaces including integrations with non-SAP systems
  • Strong understanding of ERP interrelationships and dependencies across related modules and systems
  • mobility/field solutions.
  • Utility Health & Safety experience
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance, regulatory compliance, and operational/disaster recovery practices
  • SAP EH&S certification preferred (for example, SAP Certified Application Associate – Environment, Health, and Safety with SAP ERP 6.0 EHP7)
  • Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA EH&S with other SAP modules (for example, SAP EAM, SAP MM, SAP HCM)
  • Working knowledge of SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), SAP Finance (FICO), SAP Human Capital Management (HCM), SuccessFactors, SAP Portfolio and Project Management (PPM), and SAP Project Systems (PS)
