Department Overview

The Transmission Line Asset Strategy (TLAS) team is responsible for maximizing the lifecycle performance of PG&E’s transmission line assets to enable the safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of energy while ensuring environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.

The team develops and maintains asset strategies, risk frameworks, and investment plans that optimize transmission line performance throughout the asset lifecycle and modernize the grid. By integrating asset condition, performance, consequence, reliability, and risk information, the organization identifies and prioritizes mitigation strategies that reduce risk, improve system resiliency, and modernizes the grid. These strategies may include maintenance programs, inspection programs, asset replacement initiatives, and capital investment projects.

The team operates in a vertical and collaborative environment to identify emerging asset risks, evaluate mitigation alternatives, and develop investment strategies that balance safety, reliability, affordability, and compliance objectives. The organization also supports regulatory commitments and enterprise initiatives by providing technical leadership for risk-informed asset management, wildfire risk reduction programs, investment planning activities, and long-range infrastructure strategies.
