Department Overview

The Project Governance team within Enterprise Project Governance is responsible for facilitating the project charter development and approval processes for major projects and programs (MPPs, total cost estimates ≥ $25M)

 

 

Position Summary

 

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Principal Financial Analyst to join our dynamic Enterprise Project Governance Team. This team is responsible for overseeing the Gate Review Board Process, ensuring that Project and Program teams navigate this process efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting these teams with the development of Project or Strategic Program Charters. This role involves extensive reading, editing, and collaboration sessions.

 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the Oakland General Office(OGO)1-2 days a week.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum:   $136,000

Bay Area Maximum:  $232,000   

 

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project and Program teams in navigating the Gate Review Board process.
  • Support the development of Project or Strategic Program Charters.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and edits of project documentation.
  • Facilitate collaboration sessions with various stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with project management standards and practices.
  • Contribute to establishing standards and drive improvement within existing processes.
  • Responsible for timely and effective resolution of reporting issues and complex analysis.
  • Provide recommendations to senior management and extended leadership with supporting analysis.
  • May manage cross-functional projects or initiatives.
  • Will provide direction to less experienced employees.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Interact and consult with multiple departments and business partners at all levels, including leadership and senior leadership.
  • Drive change in the organization and be a champion of company initiatives as appropriate.
  • Develop processes as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline) or equivalent work experience.
  • Eight years job-related experience, preferably at a utility or in the energy industry.
  • Job-related experience in analysis.

Desired:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of job-related experience.
  • Utility industry experience.
  • Experience in consulting.
  • Project Management Professional Certification and/or six years’ experience in project management.
