Job Summary

 

FERC Electric Proceedings develops, manages, and serves as PG&E's thought leader on Transmission Owner (TO) and Wholesale Distribution Tariff (WDT) Rate Cases, interconnection agreements, and other compliance filings and reports before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The FERC Regulatory Analyst, Associate may act interchangeably as an analyst or function as a case manager depending on the nature of the case/proceeding. Incumbents may be responsible for case management, regulatory filing and reporting, tariff development and implementation, policy and strategy analysis, public contact and advocacy, and/or compliance

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location 1-3 days a week, on average, based on business need.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.   

 

Pay Range display:

Bay Area - $62,000 to $85,800 annually

 

 

Job Description

 

Case Management 

• With supervision on assigned low complexity cases, establishes case team and develops and manages case schedules, milestones and deliverables.

 

Regulatory Filing and Reporting 

• With supervision, assists in the preparation, filing, distribution, and posting of filings, supporting work papers, and discovery.

• Ensures that final documents are accurate and complete and that confidential information is properly identified and protected.

• Prepares summaries of decisions, intervenor briefs, and other regulatory documents as well as summaries of meetings and workshops held by regulatory agencies.

• Ensures team members and witnesses have the support they need when they need it and that the team is properly following PG&E’s desired processes and procedures.

• As needed if cases enter the settlement or hearing phase, assists with witness training, gathers documents required for technical conferences or hearings, and manages logistics to ensure witnesses and case            documents are available; attends technical conferences or hearings and maintains key case documents, including presentations and the exhibit list.

 

Tariff Development 

• With supervision, assists with the development of new, or modification of existing tariffs in response to regulatory decisions or business initiatives.

 

Analysis 

• With supervision, updates, maintains, and revises simple computer models to conduct economic, financial, and statistical analyses. Tests data for accuracy, consistency, and usefulness.

• Researches current and past decisions, testimony, legislation and/or tariffs.

• Learns PG&E’s Lean Playbook and engages with other case coordinators and case managers at PG&E to continually identify and propose opportunities to improve processes and procedures.

• Maintains desk aids and other support to document work processes.

 

Compliance 

• Assists in implementing regulatory decisions, including tariffs, billing, and accounting changes.

• Assists in ensuring compliance items are appropriately identified, tracked, monitored, and implemented.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum

• Bachelor’s degree

• 0-2 years of regulatory experience

 

 

Desired 

• May require occasional travel to regulatory agencies or Washington D.C. for hearings, workshops, or other meetings.

• May require occasional irregular work hours to meet regulatory deadlines.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent analytical skills.

• Excellent project management skills.

• Additional specific knowledge and abilities may be required for particular positions.

• Skilled in using Microsoft Office (including SharePoint), Adobe and Visio.
