Position Summary:

The Work Methods & Procedures Specialist may focus in one of several areas of expertise provided by the operations support department for their respective line of business including but not limited to: Work Methods & Procedures, Technical Support (to field maintenance and construction crews), Quality Control, Human Error Analysis & Investigation, and/or Training. Incumbents apply journeyman lineman or electrician level technical knowledge to field support sessions, projects, audits, and activities that ensure improved safety, reliability and efficiency of field maintenance and construction processes. In addition to any specialized support focus, the incumbent develops, designs, and maintains bulletins, manuals, job aids and tailboards regarding electric standards, work methods and work procedures. Incumbents may also be assigned to teams responsible for technical documentation, training development and delivery, QA and QC, human performance reporting and initiatives, equipment failure investigations, field support for construction and maintenance including changes to maintenance programs, storm and emergency response activities, and/or involvement in special projects including the implementation of business or software systems in the field.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the Bay Area PG&E Service Territory.

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum: $​118,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $​188,000.

&/OR​

California Minimum: $​112,000.

California Maximum: $​179,000.

 

 

Qualifications:

Minimum:

High School Diploma or GED

Total 10 years of electric industry experience

5 years of Work Methods and Procedures Specialist experience, or equivalent relevant experience.

 

Desired:

AA Degree

Certified Journeyman Lineman, Electrician or Electrical Technician

For Distribution, Rubber Glove and Live Line desired

Guidance Document Author Training (CORP-0521)

2+ years of Microsoft office Suite experience

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coaches and develops other Technical Specialists.
  • Leads team for high level initiatives reporting to steering teams.
  • Provides technical expertise, historical perspective, industry standard, and regulation code requirements to improve safety, productivity, and material performance.
  • Performs advanced process mapping techniques with less tenured employees.
  • Leads meetings with assigned LOB stakeholders.
  • Handles high level written work methods development with attention to deep dive analysis of work methods best practices.
  • May lead, support or review investigations of human factor related events that occur in the electric system.May develop or lead QC and QA programs to ensure appropriate programs exist and effectively gauge results of procedural adherence and training programs.
