Department Overview

The Supply Chain Organization includes a staff of more than 500 sourcing managers, buyers, analysts, materials planners, quality/strategy and warehouse personnel, along with a Supply Chain Responsibility (SCR) team. The SCR team’s mission is to deliver cost-effective and strategic supply chain services through ethical, sustainable and diverse business solutions. Program goals include working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to facilitate responsible purchasing. Our work requires close integration with all functional areas including operations, supply chain, finance and law.

The primary goal of this role is to ensure that Diverse Business Enterprises (DBEs) have the maximum practicable opportunity to provide products and services to PG&E directly and as subcontractors.

The team’s objective is to develop and execute strategies to grow DBE spend by strengthening process guidance and accountability across the company, driving prime supplier results performance, strengthen DBE inclusions strategies for areas of increased spend and developing DBE business partner solutions. The team is also responsible for developing additional DBEs through the supplier development program and supporting outreach and Technical Assistance Programs (TAP).

 

Position Summary

The Expert Supplier Diversity Consultant will provide expertise and leadership to help PG&E achieve annual percentage goals with Diverse Business Enterprises through continuous improvement. As a key member, the strategic Expert Consultant will work closely and collaboratively with the Functional Areas to strengthen participation and accountability through the Champion Program to achieve optimal results. The Consultant will also work to identify new DBEs for the Supplier Development Program and Technical Assistance Program (TAP), satisfy external stakeholder demands to access Sourcing team and contract opportunities, and provide Sourcing teams and Functional Areas with opportunities to meet qualified diverse suppliers.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum: $109,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $175,000.00

&/OR​

California Minimum: $104,000.00

California Maximum: $166,000.00

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages diverse contract spend for large-spend Functional Areas.
  • Develops and builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifies potential supplier diversity opportunities and implements these opportunities in Sourcing Diversity.
  • Works effectively with the Sourcing portfolio managers and Functional Areas to drive results on complex projects.
  • Informs and addresses emerging supplier diversity issues in the external market. 
  • Maximizes sponsorship with community partners to ensure a mutually beneficial relationship.
  • Analyzes supplier diversity reports to understand where opportunities exist to introduce new suppliers.
  • Develops forecasts to anticipate shortfalls and develops solutions on how to implement changes.
  • Utilizes benchmarking results to introduce best practices. 
  • Maintains and improves relationships with community based organizations, Regulatory leaders (CPUC) and key stakeholders to gain support for PG&E regulatory initiatives.
  • Develops internal and external reporting and communication of PG&E’s supplier diversity results and achievement.
  • Works effectively with team members and sourcing to complete projects.
  • Ensures client satisfaction goals are achieved.

 

Working Conditions:

Dynamic, fast paced, team environment that requires flexibility and strong project management skills and technical skills. Travel required, normally less than 30 percent.

 

Required

  • 7 years of experience in procurement or other related discipline
  • Project/Program Management experience
  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • AP Systems Knowledge

  • Ability to multi-task, having the flexibility to switch priorities with minimal notice
