Department Overview

The hardworking coworkers of Electric Engineering ensure all manners of electric engineering—including electric standards and process safety, electric design engineering, instrumentation testing and controls, undergrounding, electric regulatory compliance and electric investment planning—are in place to safely enable a strategic and stable workplan for our Electric Operations partners. Our organization is accountable for program planning, financial budgeting, and project execution and delivery of all electric engineering projects. Electric Engineering is comprised of approximately 2,000 coworkers.

 

Position Summary

Manages aspects of program implementation and operations. Ensures program is operating effectively.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
 
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $129,000
Bay Area Maximum: $207,000

OR 

California Minimum: $123,000

California Maximum: $197,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate by personal action a 100% commitment to employee and public safety.
  • Performs analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data and presents recommendations.
  • Identifies new partners, technologies, and delivery channels.
  • Interfaces with various internal and external stakeholders to coordinate activities and communicate information and functionality of assets, project and programs objectives and status to solicit feedback and keep electric operations aligned and information on GIS technology solution initiatives Also to partner on exploring business process changes and impact analysis.
  • Leads and support the development of Project and Program Plans including but not limited to customer requirements, feasibility analysis, business case, project scope, stakeholder analysis, strategy execution, and provides recommendations on alternative solutions.
  • Develops overall department performance reporting. Presents reports, department updates to all levels including senior leadership (Directors and Officers). Develops and provides recommendations for solutions and improvements.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues.
  • Presents findings and makes recommendations to management.
  • Leads complex or midsize projects.
  • Communicates Program and Project status to all stakeholders.
  • Develops and manages department expense budget. Regularly monitors expenses against forecast, providing explanation or justification for budget items and/or variances.
  • Uses knowledge of standards, business processes and related impacts to ensure GIS technology solution initiatives support organizations goals and objectives.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 8 years

 

Desired:

  • Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
  • GIS programming experience in automation
  • GIS technical skills
  • 10 years of related experience or equivalent
  • Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements
  • Ability to lead the largest most complex projects across the line of business supported (i.e. Customer Care, Human Resources, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge and expertise of business and or industry drivers
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
