Within the Electric Risk & Compliance organization, the Data Quality & Analytics team provides data analytics capabilities and platforms that enable effective responses to regulatory inquiries about customer affordability, system reliability, and public safety. The team works cross-functionally across the Electric Risk & Compliance organization to enable data driven decisions by applying industry-leading machine learning (ML), and GenAI. Position Summary

We are seeking an IT Application Support Analyst Expert to extend the AI-enabled workflow and reporting platform capabilities of this team.  You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of application development, including design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support. You will work closely with clients to understand their business requirements and translate these into effective application designs that prioritize user experience while leveraging the Microsoft ecosystem and other PG&E platforms.

 

The selected candidate will be required to live within PG&E’s service territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)            $128,000.00

Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)        $173,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)           $218,000.00

 

Minimum Base Salary (California)         $122,000.00

Mid Base Salary (California)      $164,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (California)        $207,000.00

 

Job Responsibilities Specific to the Role

  • Work Scope: Possesses broad technological expertise. Assignments are complex, have major associated risks with high visibility. Solid understanding of Application Development Frameworks and Coding standard. Support governance of development standards and frameworks. Responsible for diagnosing and correcting complex production issues. Full understanding of combined technical, business, and processes areas. Solid understanding of PG&E Production methodology and compliance processes and impact to client projects. Applies significant technical concepts of subject area and procedures and techniques; ability to use and define technical details of assigned work. Serves as key technical resource with areas of specialization.
  • Problem Solving: Resolves application programming problems of complex scope through cross-functional team participation.
  • Internal/External Contact: Runs O&M team meetings.
  • Provides and documents resource estimates in response to business service requests. Lead less experienced Application Support Analysts on technically complex projects or work. Solid understanding of the impact to all application areas of systems/sub-systems modifications and enhancements; has broad, over-arching understanding of impact to IT. Leads teams of programmer- analysts
  • Keeps up with programming trends.
  • Provides input on deployment plans
  • Data Platform support: Oversees application debugging, refinement, and performance enhancement. Scope of support includes Microsoft Power Platform: AI agents, Dataverse, Power Apps applications, Power Automate workflow automation. Scope of support includes Palantir Foundry platform: AI agents, workflows, ontologies, data pipelining, data integration, data modeling, and application design.
  • Data Platform operations: Designs data workflows to achieve business objectives, process data, analyze data, write clear and concise data findings and tailor communications to specific audiences. Provides new and innovative solutions and recommendations to enhance databases with new data sources and improved data processes
  • Provides guidance to less experienced support programmer and is team lead on cross-functional projects and initiatives

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience and/or field of study.
  • 7 years of programming support and analysis experience
  • Proven knowledge with programming support principals to enhance and maintain system performance
  • Multiple programming languages experience

 

Desired:

  • Expert understanding of troubleshooting, diagnosing, and maintaining software, how it works, and how it often breaks.
  • Certification and/or post graduate work may be desirable
  • May require certification applicable to the application being supported
  • Experience leading operational teams
  • Ability to create complex test beds, creates test scenarios, create regression tests, document and assess software reliability.
  • Ability to enhance the end-user experience
