Department Overview

Electric Transmission & Distribution ensures the delivery of clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. The Electric Transmission & Distribution Team is responsible for ensuring the electric grid's reliability and resiliency through the ongoing maintenance and operations of PG&E's 100,000 miles of distribution lines and over 18,000 miles of Transmission lines. Coworkers in Electric Transmission & Distribution actively engage in the Lean Methodology through the use of visual management in operating reviews to cross-functionally identify and solve problems and create standard work. By working together as One Electric. One Team. We are delivering for our hometowns. Electric Transmission & Distribution is comprised of approximately 6,500 coworkers.

 

Position Summary

Functions as a liaison to Electric Operation from the line of business, representing the end users and business process owners in Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, implementations and support. Lead and support Corrective Action, Cause Evaluation, Quality Review (internal audit) programs. Lead and facilitate quality programs on-time and excellent quality results. Lead and facilitate process improvements utilizing quality engineering tools and PGE Lean systems.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​122,000

Bay Area Maximum: $​194,000

&/OR​

California Minimum: $​116,000

California Maximum: $184,000

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Deploying Lean Play Book, Gamba and Value Stream Mapping (VSM), lead and facilitate continuous improvements (Kaizen Blitz, Kaizen).
  • Analyze and document business requirements for complex projects.
  • Lead and solve Corrective Action, Cause Evaluation, and Quality Review programs with on-time completion with excellent quality goals
  • Lead and manage continuous improvement projects.
  • Identify, propose and influence solutions to complex business problems.
  • Anticipate concerns and questions, and provide proactive, timely and professional communications or delegate as appropriate.
  • Act as a key contributor to teams that define, review and approve requirements for the business needs solution.
  • Participate in UATs and perform quality reviews of test results.
  • May assist with training, change management and communications associated with system implementations.
  • Contribute to business case development
  • Participate in project estimates.
  • May write manuals, Requests for Change, procedures.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of job related experience in Business, IT or Engineering fields.
  • Participation in projects of high complexity at an expert level or in a leadership role.

Desired:

  • Graduate Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in business, job-related, 8 years
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Directly related experience with Lean deployment for process improvement, or related, 6 years
