Department Overview

Our Government Funded Program Management Office (GF PMO) exists to ensure successful government award administration. Government awards include funding mechanisms like loans, grants, and tax incentives at the federal and state level. As part of the GF PMO, you will collaborate with professionals from finance, major projects, sourcing, environmental, legal, and policy to manage government funded programs that enable California’s prosperity and reduce customer rates. Our team is made up of talented and passionate individuals, including program managers, strategic analysts, compliance reporting specialists, and subject matter experts. Position Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Business Process Analyst, Expert to join our expanding Government Funded Program Management Office (GF PMO) team. The successful candidate is a dynamic individual supporting functions across the PMO and ensuring everything runs smoothly. They will be responsible for defining, improving, and executing business processes supporting Department of Energy loan and other federal funding compliance, ensuring operating reviews have accurate data, and documenting and tracking successful completion of action items. They will be a self-starter, with a penchant for process documentation, an eye for detail, and a track-record of delivering quality products on time. Responsibilities typically include many or all of the following:

 

  • Effectiveness and Root Cause Analysis: Evaluates and measures success of various business processes, practices and procedures and identifies opportunities for improvements. Compiles and analyzes data, documents work process and procedures, conducts internal and/or external surveys and interviews to identify and quantify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Develops and tracks business process related metrics. Develops and maintains standard, custom and ad-hoc reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Develops and updates quality standards, monitors quality, identifies issues and recommends improvements.
  • Business Process Improvement: Business process improvement activities in support of the business, including process mapping and re-design.
  • Training Content Development and Delivery: May develop and/or deliver end-to-end process training in a one-on-one or group setting.
  • Project Management: May lead projects, determine scope, budget, timeframes, form teams, assign tasks, manage resources and issues.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

A Reasonable Salary Range:

Bay Area – $114,000-$162,800

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver accurate and timely routine and event-based award reporting requirements.
  • Lead and support Key Performance Indicator development to drive outcome-based goals.
  • Lead and support preparation for Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Operating Reviews.
  • Lead action tracking and follow-up, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Analyze existing business processes to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Works with and leverages relationships across PG&E to develop innovative process solutions to address complex business issues. Presents findings and proposed recommendations to leaders.
  • Develops/delivers end-to-end process training materials to better support business needs and ensure process adoption and consistency.
  • Manages cross-functional projects or initiatives.
  • With support, prioritize competing activities and maintain focus on driving key strategic outcomes.
  • Lead and support ad-hoc activities in a dynamic environment.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Statistics, Mathematics or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 6 years of related or equivalent experience.

 

 

Desired

  • Graduate degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Energy Systems, Energy Policy, or related fields.
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Experience supporting business process reengineering to improve the administration of complex federal funding programs, such as loans and grants.
  • Demonstrated experience documenting processes and submitting reporting requirements in a timely manner.
  • Broad expertise in business process, root cause process improvement and data analysis concepts, methods and techniques.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to develop process solutions.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs.
  • Influence skills to effectively gain buy in from leaders inside and outside of the department.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key process drivers affecting business results.
  • Project management and change management skills to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams.
  • Organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio or similar software.
