Department Overview: The Lean Operations team at PG&E establishes the strategy and approach to ensure the continued development, improvement, and ownership of the PG&E company-wide lean methodology.  This team supports a variety of initiatives rooted in Lean principals with our core mission being to provide dedicated support of xxx to frontline coworkers, ensuring that those closest to our customers are both supported and empowered to drive continuous improvement. Goals for the team are:

  • Develop and support leadership engagement at all levels of Operations, including union leadership on the Lean Operating System (Lean).
  • Implement the 5 Lean plays across all areas of Electric and Gas Operations.
  • Establish standards and controls to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Lead the expansion of 5S activities across Operations.
  • Develop and implement the full Lean yard concept in the five regions and develop plan to expand.
  • Organize and support the cross-functional problem solving in 19 Divisions.
  • Engage and support frontline workers, and unlock the power of coworker engagement with Lean, PSEMS and Breakthrough Thinking.
  • Align Lean implementation approach with Enterprise Lean Office.

 

Position Summary: We are looking for motivated, self-driven individuals who enjoy a hands-on, in-person approach to change management through role modeling with an ability to influence change and strong organizational skills. Executes on the vision for the organization, aligns the regional teams and functional areas with PG&E’s Lean vision, and provides ongoing coaching to facilitate and sustain Lean deployment. Monitors the health and progress of their regional and/or functional area by leveraging Lean resources to drive the greatest impact. Continuously builds Lean skills through training and hands-on experience. Directly supports frontline coworkers to operate with higher levels of safety, quality and affordability.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. 

The hourly rate for a bachelor’s degree ranges from $20.86 to $34.07

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support / Facilitate operating reviews and problem-solving sessions
  • Supports regional and functional areas to deploy core Lean tools (e.g., operating reviews, standard work).
  • Ability to work independently within a division and/or Functional Area (Line of Business), be self-motivated, and self-disciplined
  • Support metrics development and data management
  • Competency in planning and prioritizing work
  • Competency in solving problems

 

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earning a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, management, Organizational Management or related discipline from an accredited university.
  • MUST be a full-time enrolled student. Must be continuing and enrolled fulltime towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university.

  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
