Position Summary

Designs, develops, modifies, configures, debugs and evaluates jobs for extracting data from various sources, implements transformation logic, and stores data in various formats fit for use by stakeholders. Collects metadata about jobs including data lineage and transformation logic. Works with teams, clients, data owners and leadership throughout the development cycle practicing continuous improvement.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland, CA, approximately 1 - 2 days per week, or more based on business needs or company requirements.

 

Compensation

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position.  The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.  The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and midpoint listed below.  The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Bay Area Min: $102,000.00

Bay Area Mid: $132,000.00

Bay Area Max: $162,000.00

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Analyzes existing applications and systems and formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, logical database design, performs coding and tests/debugs programs.
  • Designs and deploys new systems and enhancements to existing systems ensuring compatibility and inter-operability.
  • Works on moderately complex problems that require in depth analysis and judgment to obtain results or solutions.
  • Resolves application problems within procedural guidelines.
  • Provides technology that supports solutions which meet business capabilities and are consistent with enterprise standards, architectures and strategies.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience with data engineering/ETL ecosystems (e.g., Informatica, SAP BODS, OBIEE), 3 yrs

 

Desired:

Programming & Big Data

  • Languages: Python, PySpark, SQL, Snowflake SQL

Cloud & DevOps (Infrastructure)

  • Cloud Platforms: Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • CI/CD & DevOps Tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform (Infrastructure as Code), Git (Version Control)

Database Technologies

  • Platforms: Snowflake Data Cloud
  • Core Competencies: Designing and managing cloud data warehouses, writing optimized Snowflake SQL, and managing storage/compute resources.
