Department Overview

Occupational Health focuses on the prevention and management of work-related illness and injuries. The team consists of ergonomics, workers’ compensation, clinic oversight, fitness for duty, injury management and critical incident stress management programs.  

 

Position Summary

The Clinical Services Program Manager will have primary overall management responsibility for the Fitness for Duty (FFD) program for PG&E coworkers and will provide operational direction and oversight of all aspects of the program including vendor management, intake, and case management for coworkers with fitness for duty concerns.  This role requires strong program management skills along with ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards, while supporting coworkers with empathy and professionalism. 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

 

Bay Area –  $140,000 - $207,900        
        
And/or

 

California - $133,000 - $198,000        

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the company’s Fitness for Duty program, managing all cases from intake to closure.
  • Accountable for overseeing the Fitness for Duty decision process, including coordinating with vendors and medical providers and ensuring those decisions are effectively communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Document, track, and create new claims while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders including Coworkers, Supervisors, HR, Labor Relations, Legal and Physicians to resolve cases effectively. 
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policy, and labor agreements.
  • Develop and refine program processes, workflows, and documentation standards.
  • Provide case updates, metrics, and reports to leadership as needed.
  • Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives.  Collaborates across the organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program.  
  • Support program communication, leader guidance, and employee training related to FFD.
  • Manage additional programs or initiatives and coaches/mentors others as needed, in response to organizational needs 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.  
  • Clinical experience (e.g. Nursing, occupational health, or case management)
  • 10 years of related experience or equivalent 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Labor Relations, Legal, Safety and employee support programs (e.g., EAP, Critical Incident Stress Management)

 

Desired:

 

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in California
  • Experience managing Fitness for Duty, Drug and Alcohol testing, or Reasonable Suspicion programs
  • Advanced degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related behavioral health field
  • Specialized training or certification in mental health counseling and behavioral health assessments
