Job Summary

 

The Case Manager manages the regulatory process for assigned regulatory cases and identifies compliance requirements arising from regulatory directives. The Case Manager will develop case materials, including performing policy and quantitative analysis to support PG&E’s desired outcomes. The Case Manager will act as a Project Manager and perform but not limited to the following activities: Identifies and gathers the internal case team, develops the schedule, milestones and deliverables, manages issues, and leads development of key case materials. The Case Manager will be instrumental in developing the case strategy, cost recovery, tariff changes and other proposals for their assigned regulatory cases. The Case Manager will act as a liaison with the regulatory body and interested stakeholders, gathering input, identifying common areas of agreement, and providing relevant information. 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location up to 3 days a week based on business need.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.   

 

 

Pay Range display:

Bay Area – $128,000 to $173,800 annually

 

 

Responsibilities:

Case Management

 

  • Develops and executes regulatory strategy for multiple major cross-functional regulatory cases of moderate to high complexity to align with PG&E’s goals and objectives.

     • Manages multiple regulatory cases with demanding time constraints. Manages and directs cross functional teams.

     • Assists subject matter experts with development of testimony, work papers and discovery responses, settlement documents and communications materials.

     • Evaluates and develops recommendations on cost recovery, ratemaking, customer programs and tariffs.

     • Reviews and summarizes proposed decisions and other regulatory filings, provides insight into implications and recommends changes to case strategy resulting from regulatory filings. Identifies, documents, and         assigns compliance requirements.

     • Provides regulatory advice to case team

     • Conducts analysis to ensure request in case is adequately supported by workpapers and testimony. Research regulatory proposals and decisions to identify issues regarding a future proposed regulatory                     request.

     • Provides analytical support for regulatory, policy, and business initiatives within PG&E.

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

 

  • Facilitate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc case team meetings to discuss successes and resolve issues
  • Communicates case strategy and policy issues to PG&E leadership or to external stakeholders. Utilizes broad knowledge of the case to proactively engage external stakeholders and regulator to gather information to support the case.
  • Communicates PG&E’s position and/or perspective regarding gas/electric regulatory issues to regulator and interested stakeholders.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, legal studies, engineering, finance, policy, or related field

• 7 years of experience in project management, regulatory case management, or relevant experience

 

Desired:

 

     • Knowledge and understanding of PG&E and utility industry’s (gas/electric) operations, pricing, accounting, and customer service issues

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with demanding time constraints

     • Knowledge and understanding of case management processes, procedures, and practices

     • Demonstrated ability to review and evaluate complex analysis and recommendations

     • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to address issues, educate, influence, and present complex information with ease and clarity

  • Proficiency and skill with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, CoPilot)
  • Effective at negotiating and influencing at all levels internally and externally
