Department Overview


The Facility Integrity Management Program and Technical Services (FIMP&TS) is responsible for all Compression & Processing (C&P) and Measurement & Pressure Control (M&C) asset families for gas transmission stations.

 

Position Summary


Performs asset management and engineering work in support of gas transmission operations, construction and/or maintenance functions within Gas Operations. Expectation to be self-directed and proactive to ensure the timely, thorough, and accurate completion of engineering services, work and projects. Performs asset management and provides technical support for assigned facilities as required. The engineer’s responsibilities contribute to Gas Safety Excellence goals by ensuring the safety, integrity and reliability of the assigned assets.

 

Headquarters will be at Hinkley Compressor Station or Topock Compressor Station. The preference is Topock Compressor Station.

 

If headquartered at Hinkley Compressor Station, the position will require approximately 50% of travel time in work schedule. 

 

If headquartered at Topock Compressor Station, the position will require approximately 10% of travel time in the work schedule.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. If headquartered at Topock Compressor Station, you will be allowed to live and work remotely from California or Arizona.

 

This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.


PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: $122,000
California Maximum: $207,000


This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

o    Leads teams from multiple organizations and/or vendors for system, programmatic or complex repairs, investigations or other efforts
o    Expands knowledge in other areas of specialty or discipline, developing breadth or further develops expertise and specialization on one area
o    Evaluates methodologies, best practices, tools, processes, procedures and technology assessing potential fit, benefits, and impacts for assigned workstreams
o    Presents engineering research, findings solutions and recommendations to supervisors
o    Provide training, guidance, instruction and coaching to other Engineers 
o    Interprets and applies applicable codes and regulations, policies and procedures
o    Applies knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices in a specific discipline, field or area of expertise to resolve complex problems
o    Completes assignments of broad scope and complexity with few precedents or standards and assignments that require integration of information from a variety of sources
o    Takes ownership of problems and their solutions


Qualifications-


Minimum Qualifications:  
•    BS Engineering or equivalent experience
•    Five (5) years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications:
•    Oil or gas experience (transmission) with design, maintenance, construction and/or operations
•    Professional Engineer (PE) license
•    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Desired
o    Advanced written and verbal communication skills
o    Has a solid understanding of the asset functions including threats and risks for their workstream with ability to predict unforeseen outcomes
o    Ability to organize and present information and recommendations to various leaders
o    Advanced Knowledge of applicable engineering principles, codes, regulations, policies and procedures related to the industry and PG&E
o    Creativity and innovation skills
o    Ability to work independently under limited direction and guidance
