Position Summary

The Program Manager – Electric Transmission Engineering supports the implementation and ongoing management of electric transmission engineering programs. This role ensures assigned programs operate effectively by supporting planning, financial tracking, performance monitoring, and coordination with internal stakeholders.

The Program Manager completes assignments of moderate scope and complexity and works under general guidance on moderately complex issues. This position partners with Transmission Engineering, Asset Management, Finance, and other cross‑functional teams to support attainment of program objectives and metrics. This is an individual contributor role with no direct report.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)            $144,000.00

Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)        $194,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)           $244,000.00

 

Minimum Base Salary (California)         $137,000.00

Mid Base Salary (California)      $184,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (California)        $232,000.00

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and day‑to‑day management of electric transmission engineering programs and initiatives.
  • Complete assignments of moderate scope and complexity, applying judgment and established program management practices.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain program budgets, forecasts, and funding status using SAP.
  • Track program performance metrics and support development of routine and ad‑hoc reports, summaries, and presentations.
  • Participate on cross‑functional project teams to support achievement of program goals and milestones.
  • Communicate with peers inside and outside of PG&E to exchange information, gather inputs, and coordinate activities.
  • Support identification and tracking of program risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Assist with internal and external data requests, audits, and regulatory support activities.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of related experience or equivalent

 

Desired:

  • Experience supporting projects or programs of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Working knowledge of budget tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience supporting electric transmission engineering, construction, or asset management programs.
  • Familiarity with utility operating environments and cross functional governance processes.
  • Experience developing performance metrics, dashboards, and management reports.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and manage competing priorities.
