Position Summary:

 

The construction manager is a leader who oversees and directs multiple construction projects, ensuring they are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. They support daily on-site construction activities and serve as the central point of contact for Project Managers, Engineers and subcontractors.

The Construction Manager is responsible for construction and improvement projects in the gas transmission system. The Construction Manager identifies projects, consults on project feasibility and project site details, coordinates with construction crews, and performs construction oversight. The incumbent may also review job packages and construction estimates, conduct job walks, and meet with bidders, contractors, and governing agencies.

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs engineering design, regulatory guidelines, permits and schedule.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​126,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $​200,000.

Or

Minimum Base Salary (California) $120,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (California) $190,000.00

 

Job Responsibilities:

•.Enhance safety by supporting safety programs, fostering a strong safety culture and collaborating with others to create safe working practices. Support in safety incident investigations and safety trainings. Ensure that all construction activities comply with internal and external procedures and standards, regulations, and legal requirements.

• Act as the primary liaison between project stakeholders, including Project Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors. Participate and/or conduct regular meetings to communicate progress, address concerns, and interpret standards and technical information.

•Applies broad expertise to work on projects in multiple disciplines such as civil, electrical, process instrumentation and pipeline construction management with a high degree of knowledge and ability.

 

•Attends job scope walk downs, leads

job scope discussions and attends 30/60/90 design reviews by Engineering to provide constructability input. Leads formal job walk downs with Project Managers and/or Gas Construction Supervisors and Field Engineers to review the IFC (Issued For Construction) drawings and discuss schedule and target dates.

•Monitors daily construction activities and

ensures the construction operations meet the program’s safety, quality, cost and schedule goals. Utilizes workload management database, updates any assigned projects, reviews workload analysis reports for action, and manages full planning team process from inception via request for contract.

•Oversees the Inspection of the

construction work. Coordinates the work of field inspectors to ensure adequate coverage of all work performed.

•Communicates any engineering and

design issues with Project Coordination and Engineering, seeks or makes decisions on any change affecting cost and schedule according to the DOA. Requests PG&E GC field engineer to perform site verification of content of test data and other as-built documents for accuracy and completeness

•Works with Project Managers to establish planning/schedule dates for construction to commence later in the year.

•Provides mentoring and training to Associate, Career and Senior level employees

 

 

Qualifications:

Minimum:

•Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

•7 years of experience in the field of Industrial engineering or Construction

 

Desired:

•9 years working experience in the field of Industrial Engineering or Construction.

•Knowledge of carbon steel piping materials, welding processes and standards used on Gas Transmission Construction.

•Working Knowledge of Primavera P6, Unifier, ProjectWise, SAP or similar.

•Demonstrated abilities in Cost accounting / Inspection / Contract administration.

•Demonstrated knowledge in Gas Transmission Construction.

•Ability to perform cost and project scheduling.

•Gas Transmission material / construction / welding standards.
